Re: 06durango [mantrasia]

06Durango, we were fortunate, we were just halfharted looking as my wife has an 01 Intrigue GLS w/PCS with only 48K on it. We stopped by the local dealer at the beginning of the month, they let us take the truck for the weekend which was cool. We took it back and my price was $31.5 with towhooks, mud flaps. They laughed and so I said for now well just wait. Then about 10 phone calls later at the end of this month the deal was cut :) The "best price" went from $34-33-32.5-31.9-31.6-31.4 Frankly if we didnt own the durango this year we didnt really care. We still have to get her car sold yet. We locked in a trade price good for the rest of july so if we cant get it sold we get that price. In ND it was very very difficult to find one with Full Curtain airbags and rollover. That was a requirement basicly that and leather so the rest was gravy. When I looked at the Dodge truck finder thing this was the only one in ND. There were about 15-20 more in the minneapolis/WI area but none were a lower priced msrp package, they were all fully loaded with options to get the full curtain bags. I wish these manufacturers would wise up that just because I want safty I dont necessarily want DVD/Navigation/18" wheels/blah/blah. We were shopping the Ford expedition and the durango, same story with Ford. Try and find an 06 with RSC and leather and its like finding a White Buffalo. You cant throw a dead cat around here without hitting one of those King Ranches but they are so hideious. The Ford dealer found us a 06 Ed Bauer with RSC and leather but their best price was $36K. The expy isnt worth anymore than the Durango. They both have their upsides with Dodge its more nimble and better engine, Ford is nicer seating and nice ride with IFS/IRS, but the 5.4 engine sucks as its too underpowered in the Expys. Good luck!

ep pricing

The EP prices are not at good as the prices that I found at the end of June. I found a dealer that would sell me a GC sxt for inovoice minus hold back (which is actually the EP price) then $3,500 in rebates MSRP $28625 Invoice $26735 rebates $3500 Invoice minus hold backs of about $1250 - rebates $3500= final price $21,995 Now the rebates are only $2,000 on the same van (thus I would have saved $1,500 by purchasing in June over July. Same dealer said wait until the rebates change again. He could not match the price quoted in June, cause the mopar rebates to the consumer were not as good. I have found that the EP is the bottom line at dealers.
below invoice in MSP

The dealer in Minneapolis actually had some good prices. I was interested in a 2005 GC SXT with options of tow group and rear power hatch. Dealer wanted $22,000 for it, that price is $1,200 below invoice and $3,500 in rebates. They pissed me off with my trade, so I didn't buy it (even though I should have). The salesman even tried one last time as I was driving off the lot!! I just didn't like the games played. They did however approach what I thought my van was worth (nada wholesale). I still may go for it, but I am going to wait and see what the new incentives are going to be on the 5th.
below invoice pricing?
by ro22tol on Fri Jun 24 01:24:09 PDT 2005
I will be traveling to Minneapolis this weekend. I searched the local dealers inventories on the net, and have found one with the options i want. I e-mailed the dealership and have an appointment to check it out. QUESTION: Do you think that it is two unreasonable to ask for Invoice price minus $1,000.?? Then take the rebates off that price? Wouldn't the dealers want to get rid of there 05's this late in the model year. I don't want to make them mad at me, but yet the van is actually a year old, since the 06's will be out shortly.
leather or no leather
by ro22tol on Wed Jun 22 22:56:16 PDT 2005
I know this has been talked about numeous times, but I would like some recent experiences with DC leather. I am going to buy a 2005 GC SXT within the next month. My last two new GC's (92 and 00) both had cloth, and we have been happy with the quality and wear. The van I am looking at has leather, and we are just unsure about it. For almost $3,000 is it worth it? I have also read that some are not impressed with the leather in the 05's. Thanks for any input!
