Re: SRT-8 MF and Residuals [chrisaz]
by wolfews6 on Wed May 07 17:33:21 PDT 2008
chrisaz- I do not have the residuals that you are looking for however I gained some inside info when I leased my Charger RT with the road & track package. The money factor is actually a range and the dealer can decide how much to charge. I do not know what the range is (i.e. highest and lowest possible money factors) but it can vary up to about 4% as an APR. Of course to get an approximate APR multiply the money factor by 2,400. I ened up with a 1 pay lease which dropped the money factor from about 4% apr to 2%. The original money factor quote from my dealer was higher than 4% and the dealer was only making ~$200 on the 4% , therefore I think the 4% is the bottom on a 27 month lease. If you do a search on cars.com these are listed link title and the money factor is much higher than my dealer charger. My advice to you is to NOT lease an SRT8. Once you go to the dealer you will find out it is NOT the cheapest and it will not change your payment by much rather than purchasing. There are a lot of low mileage (under 5k) used SRT8's that have already paid the gas guzzler tax and are about $35k fully loaded. With gas at $4 a gallon some people are looking to unload their gas guzzlers "cheap"I would look used and find your own financing. Car loans are under 5% now at most credit unions.

Thanks Car_man, and sorry for the delay. I managed to snag a Charger SE Plus for $500 out of pocket, which includes the first month's rental, The lease is for 27 months, 10,500 miles/year and a payment including taxes of $218.00 a month. Car performs well, but seems a little heavy on gas compared to the Crossfire (not much of a comparison).

I have not gone to the dealership yet because it is over 50+ miles away. Yes, it is a new leftover 07 model. Their website has 2 of the exact same vehicle on the lot. I am thinking $30,000 otd plus the $7000-$8000 rebate. Financing would be for the 22000-23000 range which I do not think is absurd. It is just difficult to price an '07 with the current tools available on the internet. I also have a trade that will be part of the deal. '05 Wrangler Unlimited w/ 14,000 miles in excellent condition. I am sure they can sell it certified used and recoup some of the discount they pass me. I am banking on a slumping economy, soaring gas prices, and a lack of consumer spending. Thanks for your help. Where did you check the price KBB, NADA, Edmunds TMV? I want to go into this armed to negotiate.

au1994: The 2.4 L engine has very little low end torque. Not only is it dull on the punch it is a gutless engine, and a gas sucker as well. I would think the 3.5 would do better in mpg over the 2.4. The 3.5 has a 6 speed auto trans which is far better than the 4 speed aoto that comes with the 2.4. The only one I saw was the base with the 2.4 and the CHEAP interior and it was $ 23,000.+ and it had no chrome except the Dodge Ram badge on the front. Everything on this one look cheap. Made in Mexico, so fit and finish on the outside was very good. I believe it would be even better if made in the USA! Perhaps Chrysler LLC. will see that DCX was going cheap to make more $, and correct some of this cheap ill fitting plastic junk, and make some real quality molded plastic that fits and looks and feel nice. farout
it's an ok car
by xdmxxps on Sun Mar 23 04:34:34 PDT 2008
03-20-08 i got a 07 R/T AWD Calibar NEW. LOADED if a Calibar can have it it's got it all but simple radio, but thats ok the sireus is cool. the seats could sit a little lower, i am 5'11" and theres not a lot of head room and there is a blind spot, but hey thats what the side mirrors are for. the price i paid was $22,236 car, tax, plates, blah blah. 20,499 was on the window. I hope that lifetime warrenty is all that they say it is. i really don't care to much about the price with a lifetime powertrain. the body will rust off before i get ride of it, in minnesota that should'nt take to long 15 years. the mileage i'm getting with the 2.4L engine is around 19 in town, and them are hard miles that i put on it. i'm shooting around 28 on the open road, thats with the temp being aournd 32F. The CVT is smooth, not sure what to think about it not a lot of miles yet, but time will tell, once again who cares lifetime powertrain!! the 18" rims are a bit over kill for such a small car, but maybe we can just call that "car bling", my wallet hurts just thinking about replacing the tires when they wear out!!!! it handles like it's on rails, thats not a problem. the ride is a bit on the rough side, that mite be cus of lack of side walls on the tires. ah but they do look cool. all the handles are in easy to reach places, not sure what they where thinking when they put that ipod holder where it is, man i place my arm there when driving down the road, i'll have to find a new place for my ipod what they have does not work for me. for a smaller car, and to have AWD and still get the mileage it does. the Calibar R/T AWD i like. i hope it stays that way. for a hackback i think it looks kinda cool too. If you pay cheap you get cheap, if you pay to much, hope you don't get cheap. so far i've got what i paid for and maybe a little more. If you don't like it why did you buy it, and do your homework next time. for a 3rd car this is a nice crossover for intown, out of town, snow and ice, get around, go down to the gas station to get milk car, my others are a 97 Grand Prix GTP and a 97 Dodge Ram diesel ex. cab one ton 4x4, got both in 98 almost new.
Re: buying a new durango [armchair_q_bac]
by jfritsch on Wed Dec 05 17:11:45 PST 2007
If you look up the wholesale price of a 06 43000msrp limited durango you will find it is about 21000. Your 07 vehicle will wholesale for this next year (if you are lucky, and/or gas is still about 3.00.) Even 15000-16000 off is no great shakes so by all means get greedy. A durango limited like this is has always sold for about 13000 off mid year on for at least the last 4 years whether supplier discount, military, college grad, college dropout etc. Good luck --jjf Thanks for the advice. I have an 07 limited that I am working on. The msrp is a little over $43000.00 plus they added about $700 in after market stuff ( window tint, billet grill and chrome door handles). They are offering $6000 off to move the 07, I get around $4500 off from my supplier discount and have talked them down about another $1500 to a price of $31500 . however If I can come up with an employee discount it will knock almost $750 off of that. I don't want to sound greedy, but if the discount is available I would like to take it. I'm sure Dodge wouldn't have any objections with me giving them another $750. So how about it guys, anyone have an EC number left?
