After having a HORRIBLE experience with another local dealer that shall not be named, I was very weary of buying a new car altogether. However, Larry Price and the folks at Kia of Wilmington completely changed my perspective and gave me an A++ car shopping experience. I went in with a major chip on my shoulder - I wasn't going to be held hostage for 5 hours and I wasn't going to be jerked around with pricing. Even with my cold attitude, they assured me (like other dealers) that they would not repeat the same mistakes of the dealer and would give me a the best deal and the best service. And they delivered. BIG TIME. I test drove the car with Larry at 4:45 pm, had my quote in hand from Mike and Mike, and was back on the road by 6:30 pm. I wasn't hassled with an immediate phone call as soon as I left. I wasn't overly pressured to make a decision that day. They understood that they had given me a good offer and that I still needed time to think about the investment. The next morning, I recieved a call from the Internet Sales Consultant, Victor. He and I had chatted earlier the previous day before I went to the showroom. His first question, "How was your time at the dealership yesterday? Did they treat you ok?". And the rest of the conversation was inline with that - not to place pressure my decision to choose Kia of Wilmington. The next day, I finished getting more quotes for 2010 Kia Fortes and Hyundai Elantras and no other dealer could get close to offer from Kia of Wilmington. My credit is not great and that certainly had an effect on pricing but Kia of Wilmington didn't try to throw in a bunch of extras to jack my price up. It was a clear cut deal and I decided to go with them. Finally, day number 4. Called them, told them that I was going to move forward, and made an appointment that afternoon for pickup. When I showed up, the car was ready along with all of the paperwork and I was in and out in 45 minutes! Larry was even handling other customers but I still felt like I was number one even though my car was certainly not going to be a big money maker for him. He was more concerned with making sure I was happy and that he did his job to make me feel informed and good about the decision. I am a happy owner of a 2010 Kia Forte and the process couldn't have been simpler. Thank you Kia of Wilmington and I will be going to them for future purchases - that is certain.
