I attempted to purchase a Toyota Rav-4 around Christmas to replcace my Wife's 2001 Sienna. I have been buying cars from Hoffman since 1999, when I bought a 2000 Camry LE. Next, I bought the Sienna. In 2007, I traded in my Camry for a 2008 Camry Hybrid. I love that car. My wife and I have serviced our cars at Hoffman's from 1999 to 2012. We were hoping to buy our 19 year old daughter her first car from Hoffman's. We were also hopeful to buy our 17 year old son his first car from Hoffman's. We were desiring to continue to service all of our vehicles with Hoffman's, where the service is fairly priced, done well, and dependable. All of that is for naught, because of the short-sighted decision by a sales mana-ger. The Salesman, "Johnny O," was as accomodating as he could be, reserving the 2011 Rav-4 I picked out for my wife for almost two weeks. I had a large settlement check coming in, and I initially thought to pay cash for the vehicle. because it was taking some time for the settlement check to clear, I decided to finance the purchase through Toyota (which would have provided more money to the dealership, as a result). The bottom line was that, with $250.00 down, the sales manager, Mr. Orsini, refused to lower the price to allow me to buy the Rav-4 for $25,000.00, "out the door." The lowest he came down to was $25,250.00, plus the $250.00 down-payment. A difference of $500.00. Because of Mr. Orsini's unwillingness to recognize my longstanding loyalty to the Hoffman Toyota Delaership, and his unwillingness to recognize the future sales and servicing of the family vehicles at Hoffman's, I will never buy another car from Hoffman's again, nor will my wife, nor my children. My wife and I will no longer service our cars at Hoffman's. this has been a painfull decision on our part, but not as painfull as having our continued loyalty to Hoffman's being valued so poorly.
