Since our two cars were old (8 and 15 years old) we explored options for a newer car. We looked at Suburu and Hyundai all wheel drive and the Honda CRV. I test drove them and reported to my wife. We visited Hoffman Honda on Saturday 1/19/13. I had an appointment with Jennifer K., sales rep. We liked the CRVís handling and appreciated itís back up camera. We asked to test drive the 2013 Honda Accord ex-L which featured both a back up and lane change camera to show what is on the right hand blind side. The ride experience and handling was superior in the Accord. Over lunch we concluded that in our 30 years in Connecticut we have always done well with front wheel drive and decided to buy the Accord. What tipped the decision was the car had loads of safety features and had positive reviews from the hosts of the Car Talk radio show. Jen offered us a deal we could not refuse. We declined the optional paint/fabric insurance. Jen arraigned registration and updated our car insurance. We drove the car home a few hours later (remember this was a Saturday afternoon). The February 2013 Consumer report magazine has a very positive review of the Accord 2013. Public radio show hosts of Car Talk had a favorable review also (cartalk.com). Next time we need a car I will seek out Jen K. because she was knowledgeable about the vehicles, did not try to pressure us with additional accessories and really listened to our concerns. I had visited several other dealerships and was repulsed by the double talk and pressure to buy. It is important to remember that car dealer sales people sell cars every day whereas shoppers buy a car only every few years which means the buyer is at a huge disadvantage in negotiations. We were fortunate to have Jen as our sales representative.
