Buying a car from a Chrysler Car Dealer

Warranty claims are down 30% so reports Chrysler. Down from what, 90%? I would be very careful buying anything produced at a factory full of disgruntled employees.

Who is going to be doing these warranty repairs if Chrysler goes out of business? It is one thing for the government to back the warranty and other to get parts and service. Will you be directed to the nearest military base's motor pool? What you really need to consider is how long you intend to keep the van because if Chrysler goes away your future trade will be worth nothing. The resale value on used Chrysler minis is already low. I had a 2003 Olds Silhouette and its value plunged when GM dropped the Olds line, not that it ever was high.

Re: 2008 T & C limited pricing [vinnyny] by artgpo on Sun Oct 21 08:32:07 PDT 2007

I just looked at the "Search Dealer Inventory" function of Chrysler's website looking at the availability of '08 Town and Countrys. The first two dealer's inventories had a combined 25 in stock. There are another four or five Chrysler dealers in San Antonio so there has to be about 60 in town. What is even more interesting is the $1,000 rebate being offered on this brand new van. Short supply? Both Dollar and Thrifty here in town have dozens on their lots.

I have been shopping for a SRT-6 for a couple of weeks. I found coupe in Houston, TX with 700 miles for $26,900. Found a convertible with 3000 miles for $30,000 - for sale by private party in San Diego. Went to a dealership outside of Dallas and for a SRT-6 convertible $38,500 (they were very proud of theirs)...Bought mine off ebay for 34,000 yesterday...SRT-6 Black Convertible with navigation - 5000 miles outta PA. Pricing is all over the place but still some available. I used Capital One Auto Finance online to get the deal done...gave me some bargaining power. You may look into that.
