Buying a car from a Chrysler Car Dealer
I've actually switched gears a little and I'm now considering getting a 2008 T&C Limited leftover versus a 2009 Touring. How much of a discount do you think I should expect from a dealer that has one of more 2008s still on the lot? I have found so far that they just want to take an extra $1k off. Is it unreasonable to think they should be reducing it more for a 2008? Why wouldn't I just take a 2009 if it is only going to cost me $1k more? I thought they'd be more willing to unload the 2008s.
I was just quoted a price of $28,609 for a 2009 T&C Touring with 25L package, swivel seats, booster seats in the 2nd row, backseat TV, and the 4.0L engine. (MSRP = $35,555) Price quote = $28,609 before tax, tags, etc. I was hoping to get exterior chrome trim added (for cost) plus 3 additional wireless headphones for no charge. Does that seem reasonable?
Car Man I need your help! I am from Pittsburgh PA and spent the whole day today trying to run numbers with a dealer to lease the 2006 300 Touring AWD. (it is not the "C" or SRT8) Quote price was 32,205 with a "selling" price of $30,900 (claiming that was their invoice price and that is what they would sell it to me for) 36 months lease, 12,000 miles, $700.00 down (just for first month, tax, etc) came out to $539 including taxes. After reading,,,I feel a little beat! (I was seconds from taking the car home,,glad I didnt!) Can you please calculate this for me and see what you come up with! Thanks for your help! G
what car do you have now that you kept for 9 years? also how many miles do you put on in a year? if you dont push say over 70k miles then its a nice vehicle. as far as pricing. I think you will find about $1.5k difference between the two comp equiped vehicles. the touring pac with all the stuff vs the B9 limited. I lost about $2k in resale value so its about a wash. The transmission on the Pac was getting rougher and rougher as I started getting up in mileage. I had the recall done on it to add a quieter on but it still clunked from drive to reverse and started getting heavy shifting from 2nd to 3rd on little hills doing say 40 mphs... just would shift heavy. the B9 I have now is no-where like that. the transmission is smooth as butter. no clunks in reverse to drive ... and it shifts smoothly when on the road.
the resale value of Pacifica will chew up the savings you get over another vehicle buying the other at invoice. I purchased the B9 at invoice! the second thing was I just had bad feeling that the transmission was going to go bad after my extended 70k warranty. They had problems before with transmissions and the pac was starting to shift very heavy at times when going at a mid speed say around 45 mphs. between 2nd and 3rd gears. the B9 was lighter but same HP. and figured the Subaru had better AWD. not that it matters much because the PAC handled very very well in the snow with snow tires on it felt solid. too many bad experiences getting it to where it was when I traded it. it ran well but the mulitple visits to the dealer left me never wanting another Chrysler ever again. the initial quality and design is not there. the features are hard to pass up and thats what got me into a PAC in the first place. but the quality of the features got me to leave Chrysler. I would recommend leasing a PAC. its a great vehicle for a 2 or 3 yr lease if they give you a high residual value
