Re: Any recent purchases? [tigerjeepguy]

So the honeymoon is over.... I drove an '08 auto tranny limited and was unimpressed. It had huge blind spots in the rear, tiny mirrors. I can just imagine how little I can see when there is a passenger. The auto was uninspiring; when I punched it the trans was like "do you really want to do that"? It got going between 25 and 50 but it took a while to get there. Such a beautiful car though... Oh well it wasn't meant to be.

I was disappointed as well with these new "deals"...IMO last month was a much better time to have purchased a T&C. Oh well - Chryslers loss since my wife, & I purchased a Odyssey EX last night for nearly $6000 off MSRP with 2.9% for 3 years.
Purchase Attempt 2009 Chrysler 300C
by robw64 on Sat May 02 15:16:21 PDT 2009
Because of the advertised Chrysler incentives and the federal tax program I decided to send out a few internet quote requests for a 300C. The online inventory showed one at the dealership in my city with everything I wanted (inferno red, genuine wood interior, fully loaded). Their internet quote came back with an excellent price ($8k under MSRP), so I set up an appointment to test drive the vehicle today. I was surprised when I was told that Chrysler Financial is no longer writing any loans at all, so the zero percent financing advertised through May 4 is unavailable. I hadn't seen that announced anywhere. In fact, I came home and looked on the Chrysler Financial website to find they are still accepting applications in the space right below the "We are not in bankruptcy like Chrysler Corporation is......." announcement. With excellent credit (no joke.....my rating is in the top 2% of nationwide scores) the dealership quoted me 7.99% for 60 months. My local bank is offering 5.49%. I was offered $18,500 for my 2007 loaded Lincoln MKX. Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book both state a trade of approximately $24,500. I am realistic when it comes to car buying and I know it can be somewhat of a game. I am also aware they aren't giving their inventory away. However, I wasn't expecting such an extreme attempt at screwing me over at this point in Chrysler's situation. It's a beautiful car and I would definitely have considered driving home with it had the offer been reasonable. Oh well.

Toledo, OH. Yark Automative Group. They are a big dealer in town with multiple brands and locations. I have a history of doing business with them, leasing a BMW about 2-1/2 years ago; this certainly helped. Also, the sales guy who I had dealt with then is now the General Manager for the BMW part of Yark's business. I wanted to stick with Yark due to their great service over the years and they felt the same and met me where we both could be happy with the deal. It did take about 8 days to negotiate the final price. In addition, I got the lifetime, unlimited B2B warranty from Chrysler for $1875. So far, I have been very happy. A similarly equipped Sienna and Odyssey was running at $40+.
