tedebear, I sent rmbalisa my information after he wrote the "don't waste my time or yours" post and he's never gotten back to me. Actually he hasn't even logged back in since I sent him the message with my info. I'm hauling my kids from MN to FL at the end of March and WILL be doing it in a new van. I'd appreciate it if you could get me a number. I'll even send you a picture of 4 very happy little kids in the new van! Even if you can't get me a number your posts have been very helpful, thanks.
T&C Lease
by leecurrie on Fri Apr 14 11:26:04 PDT 2006
This site has been helpful, so I wanted to post what I have been offered in the Twin Cities (MN) for others' benefit as well as ask a question: 1. 2006 T&C Touring, no extra options 2. 27 Months 3. 12,000 miles per annum 4. 0 out of pocket 5. $317 per month I think it is a decent deal because 2 of the seven dealers who had been trying to win the deal both dropped out when they heard that offer and told me to take it. My question is: Can I/Should I negotiate the end of lease purchase price before I sign? I believe they base that price off of the MSRP, but the price I have negotiated is thousands less. Thank you
nice experience

I'm sure others have received better deals, but I wanted to pass along a nice buying experience. After studying Edmunds, I decided to make inquiries through internet sales departments, rather than going to the lot directly. I live in the Minneapolis area.      I received many replies, about half were actual price quotes, the rest were an invite to call or visit the lot. I'd been pretty specific about the vehicle and options I wanted, so there would be no reason not to just give me a price.     One dealership, Walser in Hopkins touted it's no-negotiation "we just give you the lowest price" way of prices.    After talking with some other dealerships and comparing what they actually could get in stock, Walser did, in fact, turn out to have the lowest price on the vehicle with options I wanted.    The internet sale manager did not try to sell me options I didn't want, or talk me into a higher priced vehicle.     He treated me with respect, and did not say anything dumb like "you really look good in that car". (Being female, that has happened in the past, to which I reply, I really don't care how I look in the car, I care about the car). I decided to buy the vehicle at a bit more than $6000 below MSRP. It was a few hundred below what Edmunds TMV pricing was for the Pacifica with the options I wanted.        They played no games with my trade-in... their appraiser looked it over while I was test driving the new car. The price they offered was a few hundred above what Edmunds site estimated, and about what I thought a dealership would offer me based on Kelly Blue Book and condition of the car. They explained their offer, and what they would be doing to my trade in to sell it. Everything they said was exactly what I would have done to the car had I kept it.     Their offer was separate from the deal on the new Pacifica. That is, even if I didn't buy the new car, they would write me a check and buy my old car if I wanted to sell it to them.     The finance manager was cordial, no pressure. I asked him about extended warranty. (I brought it up.. not him. I've had horrible experiences with guys practically trying to bully me into buying the extended warranty). He gave the price, a brochure, and said I could purchase it now, if I wanted, or anytime within the 3 yr regular warranty time frame.        I apologize for the lengthy posting, but this was the most no pressure, pleasant car buying experience I've ever had. The internet salesperson (I know I'm not supposed to mention names) and the finance person were professional, straightforward and a pleasure to deal with. I was expecting this to be an ordeal, and it was great. If my experience with the car and servicing is just as great, I'll be one happy camper!
7/70 Maximum care is $1400?
by carguy1234 on Sun Dec 21 09:02:23 PST 2003
Is that right? That seems really high, since isn't all the expensive stuff already covered with the standard 7/70 power train warranty? So this maximum care just covers what's left? Maybe I don't understand it. The oil changes being covered that long is a nice deal though. I paid about $700 for a Toyota Sienna 7 year/85k warranty covering everything a few years ago.
