Re: 2008 SXT Deal Almost done [tedebear] by snoopy71 on Fri Jun 20 07:37:52 PDT 2008

First off, let me apologize to everyone for putting my questions about my GC purchase in the T&C forum... I accidentally clicked on the wrong item in the "My Watched Items" link Took delivery last night of our 2008 GC SXT, Sunburst Orange, only option was the roofrack. Here's the breakdown: MSRP=27140 + 150 (Sunburst Orange) + 250 (roofrack) + 770 (delivery) = 28310 PP (Family & Friends price) = $26240 PP Admin Fee = $75 Dealer Processing Fee= $100 MD Sales Tax= $1584.90 MD MVA Fees= $274 Dodge/Chrysler Rebate= -$2500 Dodge/Chrysler Coupon= -$750 ___________________________________ TOTAL= $25023.90 I didn't feel like b@^%^tching about the $100 dealer processing fee for such a small amount, even though when I called the hotline for the Chrysler Advantage Family & Friends program, they told me that dealers can't charge a processing fee. Since I got it at the PP price, I got a copy of the dealer invoice. Now I know why both you and I were calculating the PP price wrong. I got approximately the same price that you did - $25,725. But my invoice has some other items on it: $25 for Chrysler Owner Loyalty Mail $14 for 5 additional gallons of gas $210 for Washington Metro - PPA/EB-PF $280 for Washington Metro DAA Edmunds doesn't have these things on their listings when they show invoice price. What in the world are all of these additions??? I live in Baltimore, MD, but the vehicle came from a dealer that is about 2/3 of the way between Baltimore & DC. Do they charge regional prices too? And where the H is my 5 extra gallons of gas that I didn't get? What, were they supposed to give it to me in a gas can or something?

Congrats on your car purchase. Sounds like you got a great deal, especially with such low miles on the car. Deprectiation is definitely a factor that I was thinking about as well. I checked out cars.com for used car prices there, and it seems the car does take a nice hit (as does any car) initially, but it more or less evens out as the car ages. I usually trade cars every 2 years or less, but I got a really good deal so I think I'll hold on to this one for a little longer than that. I also really like the way it drives and it's been trouble-free so far for 10K miles (something I couldn't say about the VW that the PT replaced). Hopefully all will be well with it. ;)

I work for Chrysler, so I got a small discount. I ended up paying $22,045 for an 03 PT Limited with every option but the 6CD changer. I got the 100K warranty and GAP insurance, and walked out with 1.9% for 72 months and a total of $25,725 including sales tax.
