RE: Is it a good deal? [Car_man]

The gas program is interesting, but the fine print indicates that it is not compatible with the lease cash program...so apparantly it's one or the other. From what I can tell it is $3K lease cash -OR- $1K bonus cash plus the gas program. Can't have both. Too bad as I think that would have been the deal closer for me. I'll guess I'll just keep beating on my dealer...

Hey slackjaw. As you mentioned, Chrysler introduced its new May incentives on the Aspen. It is now providing $3,000 lease cash plus another $1,000 bonus cash ($4,000 total) on this truck. In addition to this is is running a special program that lets consumers lock in a price of $2,99 per gallon on gas for the next three years. Either they are dumb or they think that most of us are dumb. Considering they deal in car sales everyday and we don't, I think it's the latter. What bother me is when I prove I know what is going on they still pretend I'm dumb, which makes them the dumb ones. :P

What is common for dealers is to try to sell you the van that they want to sell you for the most money right now. Some times that means they don't go out of their way to show you all of their inventory. Unfortunately there aren't enough dealers who genuinely try to help you get into the van that you really want or need. Did the dealer have other vans available? A 27 month lease for only 23,000 miles is pretty restrictive. That averages 850 miles per month. I've never averaged less than 1250 per month and will put on 1,000+ miles just this weekend for a quick trip to Orlando & back from Atlanta. Extra miles over the lease agreement will cost you big time. Unless you hardly drive anywhere out of your town you would most likely go over the limit.

We ordered ours on Janurary 2, 2008. Took delivery of the Van on April 7,2008. 97 days.It should not be that long for other orders. There were 2 supplier delays during this order. Also, after putting just 103 miles on this van the check engine light is on.No it is not a loose gas cap. What a reward for waiting this long to have one built.I hope it is not a sign of things to come.

Yes, with the Screens down much of the view from the mirror is blocked. You can still see some, and you can also use the now larger side mirrors more. You just need to get used to it and adjust your mirror checking.
