I agree ... Sienna wins this battle hands down. Which is a shame. Here is a potential buyer (or many, on this forum alone), who walks into your showroom, receives good service, is willing to purchase the higher-end version of your product, even in this economy. They find that it's $4,000 cheaper than their competitor, and yet, they walk away. Really a shame, specially at this time, when the company is hurting like it is. How can one hope for a recovery? Location: Southern California Dear Friends. I am also stuck in the same analysis, of picking one over the other. Haven't jumped the gun yet (or bitten the bullet - you pick your metaphor!), but planning on going for it by this weekend (Jan 5th). My best options for comparable minivans (all 2009; all with leather seats, DVD, navigation, blue-tooth, reverse camera): Chrysler T&C Touring with package 25L. * Power-fold 3rd row seat * Stow'n go 2nd row captain seats * Two DVD screens ... huge plus, in a family with an 8-year old and a 5-year old * 20GB (or is it 30GB) hard-drive instead of CD changer Toyota Sienna XLE with package 4 * Moon-roof * Power lift-gate Honday Odyssey EX-L wtih RES and NAV * Power liftgate PRICES: Chrysler ... MSRP $37k ... Best price: $27k Toyota ... MSRP $34,850 ... Best price: $31k (w/ 2.9% for 5yrs) or $30k (no sp financing) Honda ... MSRP $37,525 ... Best price: $33,795 (w/ 3.9% for 5yrs) I am inclining towards Toyota ... but am open to thoughts and suggestions. I intend to keep the car for 6-8 years (or longer) and while resale is not a concern, the longevity and reliability of the car sure is. My editorial: Historically speaking, Toyota/Honda retain their value better, and are less prone to problems. Notwithstanding the anecdotal observations that oppose this, I, therefore, would support Chrysler for a 4-5 year term, and Toyota/Honda for short- and long-term. Comments? Lastly, whatever happened to Nissan Quest? Endangered specie??? Thanks.

Greetings, dear friends. Walked into a dealership in Southern California today. Excellent service. No pressure. No "sales" gimmicks. Selected a Touring with package 25L plus AJB (Security Group) and ANF (Premium Group). MSRP: $37,215 Final price being offered: $27,974 Good deal? Go for it? Try to get them to come down a bit more? I was hoping to get the 3yr 0% APR, but they can't offer it with this price. Also, is it worth taking the gamble to see if I can get a better deal in 4-6 weeks? My brother (the "car guy" in my family) is insisting that I consider, instead, an '08 Honda or Toyota, with comparable options. He reasons the Japanese cars will retain more of their value. Please advise. Thanks.

Vow! This sounds a pretty good deal. $500 down and $170/mon for 27 months? What is the MSRP on this car? Where (town, state) is this? How many miles per year? My brother (in Northern California) is considering Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey, with MSRP between $22k and $28k. But they are not offering as much rebate+discount as Chrysler is, and I am wondering if it's a better idea to go for a T&C. Any suggestions would be welcome. The time-frame is immediate, and we can pick up the car from Northern California, Southern California or even from Phoenix/Yuma, Arizona. Thanks.

Apologies for duplicate posting. It's beer over an hour since my posting, and the message has still not posted. ************************************************** I work for a local company, and we are trying to negotiate the best deal on three T&C minivans. Our company allowance is $250 per month, and if the employee wants to pay for add'l options, they pay the rest from their pockets. I'd thought it would be a slam-dunk, given that there's plenty of '06 inventory left over. But it seems Chrysler is just not motivated to move these minivans. They have even lowered the rebate from $7,500 to $4,500. We are looking for two "base" touring packages, and one "spring edition" (touring plus DVD, leather seats, sunroof). We are trying to obtain the following terms: $1,000 total drive-off $250/mo (touring) or $300/mo (spring edition) 15,000 miles per year 24-27 months lease (ideal). Will consider 36 months Is this possible? Please advise. Thanks.

Vow, that's a pretty amazing deal. When I first read it, I thought of hopping on the next flight to Michigan ... until I read Steve's followup. If could get this deal in Southern California, I would jump at it. Am posting my request separately. Would greatly appreciate if someone was to provide some guidance. Thanks.
