I just purchased 2008 Cobalt LT in Philadelphia area. I'm not sure how people buy below invoice, I got my car at invoice price without any "advertisement" or other fees. First I looked on Internet for car with options I wanted (manual, ABS etc.), I used Autotrader.com and Chevrolet.com to "Find a Vehicle", then I call several deallers and asked them to sell those cars at invoice price without any fees. Some of them told me "no" right away, but couple agreed and sent me quote with invoice price (same as it was listed at Edmunds and kbb.com). So deal was: 2008 Cobalt LT coule, manual, Revolution package, Blue flash metallic paint with ralley stripes, Smocker's package - MSRP $16,660 (but because this car was deleavered to dealership in November old MSRP was $16,395) Invoice price - $15,404.35 Cashback (exp. 3.3.2008) -$1000 President's day cash (exp. 2.28.2008) -$1000 Conquest bonus for non-GM owners (exp. 3.3.2008) -$500 PA and DE bonus in conjuction with auto-show (exp.2.28.2008) -$500 (all this bonuses are listed in Edmunds when you do "price with options", click on "available incentives") Total price I got in quotes: 12,404.35 At time of purchase they subtracted $1,500 that I have for redemtion at my GM credit card. Total amount from which I paid sales tax: 10,904.35 Tax: 654.26 Registration $ title: $55 Documentation (dealer fee): $157 Total amount paid: $11,770,61 Note: "LT" models have STANDARD: power windows, power locks, keyless entry, etc. It is not available in "LS" models.

Look for deeper discounts this Fall if the sales trend continues through the Summer. Tahoe sales for May: DOWN 5.5%. (Escalade: UP 50% in May)

Good suggestion... Some of the options piggy-back 'must adds' to the sticker, but I'll sharpen my pencil and see if I can trim some of the window sticker fat.

NO DISCOUNT here in suburban Philadelphia (pun intended). Today, I was "offered' full list, no discount, take-it-or-leave-it. Cash, no trade. All the options you listed, in an LTZ for $53,790. I left it. Here's why, and it was a tough call. Who at GM came up with the new second-row seats that flip up to block 50% of the doorway on each side? That means anything large (cargo, that is...not fat person) HAS to be loaded from the rear gate, rather than through the side doors. I guess GM is trying to cater more to the passenger use rather than as a cargo carrier. My 2004 Z71 Suburban has a flat cargo area from the liftgate to the front seats. Remove the 3rd seat, fold the second row bench down. Very sweet. Room for two 8' kayaks piggyback INSIDE and loads of gear. Bottom line: I was totally bummed to have to pass the '07 up, even at full list. IMHO, at that price there is no need to give up so much utility space in exchange for all the great goodies GM has packed into the new model. Why not have both? The salesperson said, "Take out the 2nd and 3rd row seats completely." And then what? Furnish the kids' rooms with them?? Stuff the dangling heater wires and flipper wires under the carpet?? I'm hoping the 2008 goes back to fold-flat-and-away second row seats, but I'm not holding my breath. Looks like the Suburban has shed its traditional dual role of utility AND passenger vehicle.
Re: March Madness rebate amount [ricsch1]

Sorry for not getting back earlier... It is not widely advertised but March Madness is $1500 for extended cab (not standard, not crew). I am in greater Philadelphia PA region, but this is national. I first read about it detroit news website. The other poster is correct as far as I know about the coupons. I didn't really push to get all four, so you might do better than I did. We like the truck, but buy experience was not great. Gmbuypower is great, but then they go and launch a complicated incentive like March Madness where we had to call around anyway to try and find a qualifying truck (which was like finding hens' teeth here, I hope you have better luck) and we still have to haggle over the price.
