If you credit is good and you plan on financing the best deal is the 0.0 financing for 60 months. That is basically a free loan for 5 years. Forget about the $2000 incentive. Interest rates from banks or credit unions are between 5.5 and 6.5% with good credit. With a $30,000 loan at 6% for 5 years you will spend $4,799.04 in interest on the loan. A lot more than you saved with the $2000 incentive. As for negotiating a price at the dealer, I would not pay more than invoice. There is a $440 Factory to Dealer incentive on most Silverado’s and I would make them give you every penny of it. The sales person may not be aware of the incentive but the sales manager definitely knows so don’t get to rude with the sales person just yet. If they act dumb, print this out and take it with you. http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/chevrolet/silverado1500/100911251/incentives.htm- - - l?vdp=off&setzip=78759&state=TX Update: Just noticed the Factory to Dealer incentive is only available to residents of the following: LA/OK/TX/Select Counties in AR/KS/MS/MO/NM. Truck and SUV sales are way down and the purpose of the incentive is to stimulate sales. Also, on the invoice you will see LAM Dealer and LAM Group contribution. That isn’t a contribution in your favor and is just a junk advertising fee to give the dealer more profit. Some dealers will drop it if you push hard enough and others won’t. With truck sales down you have pretty good chance of getting them to do it. Give them the price you will pay and stick with it. They will try every trick to get you to budge. Tell them that if they want to sell you a car, that’s the price. If they say no deal, give them a business card or a piece of paper with you phone number and tell them you are going up the road to XYZ dealership and if they change their mind to give you a call. Also make sure you specify when you give them the price that it is $XX,XXX plus TT&L. Otherwise they will try and add other fees to the price. Good luck. Donnie
2007 Avalanche Z71

All, I am considering buying a 2007 Avalanche Z71. The MSRP is $42300 and out the door, I can get it for $37,500. Does this sound like a good deal. I am in Las Vegas. If not a good deal, what do you think I should pay for this. thanks
Re: Deal or No deal? 2006 Malibu LT sedan [ymchn]

In 05 I got six grand off an 05 Maxx. Of course the 06's weren't marked up that much. 1. I think GM just put some more discounts and dealer money in to clear out 06's. 2. I know the LA auto show is already over. Any other auto show discounts on horizon? 3. If they're selling a Maxx for under $15 you should be able to do better with a 4 door sedan. There's still a quirk factor with the Maxx, the 4 door is going to be completely eclipsed by the new 08. 4. Don't be afraid to buy from a more distant dealer. The 'Bu is an extremely low maintenance car. Mine's only been to the dealer twice in 40 thousand miles. Your selling dealer doesn't have to be your servicing dealer. 5. Always deal with the Internet sales, there's less $$$ given out to a local sales person that way. Edmunds should give you 3 or more easy dealer quotes but do a zone search with other stickers on Chevy's web site and contact other Chevy dealers by Internet. 6. In addition to Edmunds, TrueDelta can be helpful in running down national pricing leaders.
Re: 2006 Trailblazer SS Lease Rates [andre1]
by framirez on Mon Aug 28 22:31:36 PDT 2006
Are you sure the offer is $3,500 in lease cash? I know GM is offering this amount if you purchase, but I thought lease cash was generally a lot less than this? If this is true then you should be able to buy from any dealer in the SE region and have it shipped anywhere. Car_Man, I have some dumb questions. I am interested in leasing an '06 Trailblazer LT with an MSRP of about $31k. I am in Las Vegas, which is Western region. First, is there any lease incentive from GM that you know of? Second, what would you say is a fair cap cost to negotiate down to with the dealer, specifically, how much would be a reasonable amount for the dealer to kick in as a cap cost reduction? I've read all the posts in this forum and haven't seen anything about a ballpark value one should target for the dealer's contribution to making a deal happen. $500? $1,000? $2,000? And again, I mean what the dealer kicks in, not GM. Also, I saw a commercial on TV just now about a $1,500 down payment matching incentive on purchase or lease for the '06 Trailblazer that is good until September 5 only. It looked like a GM ad, but the GM website makes no mention of it. It was definitely not from one dealer only though. Anyone know about this? Is it possibly from a group of Las Vegas dealers that got together to offer this? Lastly, what are the current residuals and interest rates on the 24 and 36 month lease options for '06 Trailblazers? I hope I'm not asking too many questions. Thanks.

I also just purchased a 06 aveo, my car cost was 11900 before tax, but I got the 4 door with air, cruise, door locks, auto trany,am fm cd player, the sticker was 13500, and I got it down to 11900, Williams of traverse city, said they would go 11500 but when pressed they refused, so much for the "we will not be beat advert" I wanted an auto trans. and cruise, and air. They had the cars with no air, cruise, or door locks, for 9978, and would go down to 8900 with not to much effort. I have 1000 miles on it and my wife was sitting at a stop light, when some kid, dropped his cigarette and was fumbling with his cell phone, trying to pick up his ciggie, and hit my new car in the arse. I am so pissed, his company will pay the deductible but still, I am out my car for 10 days while it is being repaired. We traded a Subaru in with 150k on it and it never had a day in the body shop. WTF? any way, I really like the car, I am a Subaru fan, but that company has taken the price of the base car up so much it is not funny. and the quality has dropped some on them, and the gas mileage has dropped. I had an impreza that got 36 mpg and now they are rated at 20-24. and the wrx they want a sticker price of 27k lol, they can keep it. I rented an aveo in las Vegas last year and was so impressed I started to look at getting one. I am a firm believer that a vehicle is a way to get from a to b, not a weener extension. MPG so far is 32 with a combo of city and highway. not to bad, all highway and another 2k down the road to get the engine worn in, should produce 35 36 mpg anyway. so far so good.
