The problem with responding to question 1 is that the Edmunds TOS don't like you mentioning other message boards so you are sort of on your own. The dealers I'm aware of from other sources are Kerbeck, Maxie Price and Les Stanford. As to getting service, I brought two C5's an '02 and an '04 home from Fichtner Chevrolet in Montana to the San Francisco Bay area and neither of the dealers I've gone to for service ever had any issues. That was even true of the extended GMPP warranty that I also got in Montana. Randy
If The Cobalt Price Is Approaching $17,000 or More......

Anyone who might consider a well equipped Cobalt at a price of $17,000+ should think again and drive the Cobalt after driving a Honda Accord LX. The Accord is larger (so harder to park) but it's a much better car than most compacts and the price might be almost the same. The Accord is likely to hold its value much better than the Cobalt, too. The Accord LX has standard side curtain airbags, ABS, and many other features that might be extra-cost on the Cobalt. But don't rely on my opinion--just drive the Accord after you test the Cobalt and see if the Cobalt still makes sense ;) ...........Richard
Re: 2004 LT with GSM discount [pao]

Hi, YEP just came back from the dealership. I bought the last 2004 Malibu MAxx on the lot. I used a GSM discount..so I paid 22,800 for a Galaxy Silver Maxx LT with 1SB options package. Got $5000 in rebates and I paid $1400 for a 72 months, 72,000 mile GMPP 0 deductible Major Guard warranty. They said that the $1400 was the GMS quote for that warranty. It would've been about $200 cheaper if I went for $100 deductible. By the way..my dealership didn't offer any longer warranty on new cars. So about $21K out the door for a loaded LT with sunroof and 6 yr 72,000 mile warranty. My car was built June 06, didn't notice any rough idle or steering drift (knock on wood). So now I'm officially part of the Club! I pick up the car Saturday :)
2004 LT with GSM discount

I'm about to buy a 2004 Metallic Silver Maxx LT w/1SB package for 22,800 + tax (before $5000 rebates = $3500 + 1500 GMAC). I think this is a pretty good price and i've been watching the MAXX since March. Absolutely no MAXX seen on the Street in Northern California. Guess I'll be the first!
