So I went on Edmunds to look for a specific GTI trim. VW Van Nuys was one of the dealers Edmunds sent my info to. I received a VM message from a sales manager named Marcos saying he was contacting me regarding my request via Edmunds, so he knew exactly what I was looking for . I called him back and told him I was looking for a 4 door GTI S trim, hopefully with lighting package if possible. I said I know they may not have one on the lot but I was willing to wait. He said they don't have any 2015 GTIs and won't be getting any until September. I know the cars are on demand but this silly sales tactic is plain stupid. 4 door GTIs are trickling in as we speak and dealers are getting several per month (I've been keeping an eye on inventories). VW Van Nuys is off my list. I'm not going to go beg them to get one and pay a premium. I just wished that Edmunds would have some form of ethical agreement with these dealers, as this makes Edmunds as shady as this dealer rep.
