Why it is so hard to get an honest invoice price?!

Recommend this dealer? No Purchased a vehicle from this dealer? No, Poor experience with dealer personnel

Called this dealer, someone by the name Bruce was beating around the bush and gave me a ridiculous invoice price after I told him what I saw on edmunds and what the other dealer quoted me.He kept saying I was talking about a different car. Finally after I sent him the link, he starts to say edmunds' invoice price intentionally cutting $1000 off... Come on!!! Invoice price is invoice price...Why it is so hard?!
