Worst Service Mazda Service Dealer - Completely Dishonest

I confess that I'm naive when it comes to automotive choices and care and furthermore, didn't do my research before servicing my 07 Mazda3 for a 30k maintenance. However, should a customer really have to jump through hoops and be at least a paralegal to abstract good, honest service? Bottom line, I nearly paid $900 (excluding tax) for my maintenance. With a bad feeling in my gut, I called every Mazda-certified Full Circle Service dealer within 100 miles of Hansel and had them blindly** give me a cost comparison of parts and labor for each service applied to the 30k maintenance. (**I gave them no information except for the fact that I needed a 30k maintenance for my Mazda and that I wanted a service, parts, and labor break down) Hansel came out an average $200 higher than any of the other dealers. Their defense was higher labor cost and that they provide more service, rather than just "examinations." However, the dealers I compared with, line by line, provided the exact same services and parts - no more, no less. Parts pricing was equivalent across the board and the true difference was in labor cost. The dealers in Walnut Creek and San Francisco were distinctly $200 lower in labor cost, and I would've expected at least equal if not higher than Hansel in Santa Rosa. The final blow of dishonesty - On the invoice, the recorded Odometer in was 30595, and out was 30595. I had made the point of writing down my drop off reading - 30587. It's "only" 8 miles - but if they are willing to lie on something small...
