I went to Honda of Santa Monica with a specific vehicle in mind: the 2009 Fit Sport in silver. What I did to try and get the best deal was get a quote through Edmunds.com. Honda of S.M. and Culver City both sent me quotes and Honda of S.M. came in $500 cheaper. The salesman knew a lot about the Fit but not as much as I would have liked. I did end up purchasing it, but I've had to do quite a bit of reading to customize the vehicle's default setttings (door locks, stereo settings, etc.). I would suggest doing your own research (read reviews) and highlight concerns you have about vehicle complaints you've read. The salesman will not offer you much help in this regard unless you initiate everything. However, the dealership did not have a silver Fit Sport and the salesman got me one in a day, so I'm happy with how accommodating he was. If there were any issues, he was more than happy to satisfy my concerns before I left with my vehicle. A very friendly guy, although he did speak with a thick accent, so communication wasn't always ideal. I guess what I'm saying is my experience was a mixed bag, but much better than my experience at other dealerships in the past. Perhaps this economically has dealers more willing to please. When I let S.M. know I found a cheaper quote at [another dealership], the salesman matched it and I saved another $200 (a paltry amount, I know, but you save whatever you can!). I would recommend this dealership (and the Fit Sport!), but do a little research beforehand on the vehicle(s) in which you are interested. Also, make sure they wash the car right before you leave (they will) and get two sets of keys for your vehicle. After that, enjoy your new Honda!
