After slamming my beloved Saab into the bumper of a bus, I picked up my shattered ego and went car shopping. Saab got forked the next week. With visions of Viggens quickly extinguished, I was forced to look elsewhere. Bright-eyed and credit free, I endeavored on my first car buying experience. Any combination of foreign accents, shifty eyes, greasy hair, and gold chains pervaded my initial salesman interactions at other dealers. Any fears of being beguiled were quashed when stepping onto the VOC lot. A nice gentleman named Oscar showed us the car and treated me with respect. While I continued car shopping, I received a hand-written thank you card in the mail for test driving the car. This prompted me to revisit the website, which had dropped the price on the car by $1000. It was negotiation time! I got my S60 R and an extended warranty for a terrific price. The sales and finance managers worked with me to get the financing I needed, given my all but existent credit history. Despite being 25, they never treated me like a juvenile delinquent, as other dealers had. The VOC guys that I dealt with are absolutely professional and nice enough to invite over for dinner. Furthermore, I couldn't be happier with my car and my buying experience!
