Overpromise and UnderdeliverWritten by trinacria3 on 08/07/07 12:00:00 AM PDT Go back to Sales reviews

High pressure "what'll it take to get you into this automobile?" and "let me talk to my sales manager" stereotypical sales tactics right out of the ACME car salesman textbook. Do your homework...they will use every tactic in the book, so be prepared. I spent 3.5 hours in the salesman's office while he went back and forth between the sales manager and the finance manager at least a dozen times before we reached an agreement. When I took delivery, the salesman attempted to review the operational features, but didn't know how to operate half the functions on the vehicle - it looked like it was his first time in a Mercedes Benz! Would that things got better from there; unfortunately, the service has been equally underwhelming. After 3 trips to the shop in the first 90 days, they have yet to resolve any of the problems I've experienced with the vehicle, and the "service managers" couldn't have been more disengaged. After the last attempt to correct the problem (which required 5 days in the shop), I picked up a vehicle that was filthy, had a foul odor, and STILL had the exact same problems that they claimed had been addressed. When I discussed the ongoing problems with the sales manager in an attempt to find some reasonable resolution, the basic response was..."your car, your problem" (but we'll be happy to purchase the vehicle back at $18,000 below your payoff amount - just write us a check and we'll take it off of your hands). I've owned about a dozen cars over the last 25 years and dealt with serveral different dealerships; until now, I've never had a problem. These guys make the airline industry seem like a customer service dream.
