I had a new transmission installed in my Taurus wagon at another dealer. It it was shuddering and finally went out 2 days later and I had it towed to San Leandro ford service, since it was the closest and I was 100 miles from home. It was under warranty and Simon , a service writer at The Ford Store refused to give ma a rental and I had to pay for it my self . He called and said a clip fell off inside the trans and he replaced the ball joint . There's no ball joint in an automatic trans..and he replaced it and the mechanic was test driving it and he wanted me to pick it up . I callede him back and said it was shuddering and to make sure it was ok before I picked it up. Simon returned my call and said it was still shuddering and said that the clip wasn't there to begin with and he replaced it and that he wanted me to come pick it up and take it to the dealer where I origionally got the trans installed. I went to the Ford dealer where I had the work origionally done and spoke to the service manager and told him what Simon had told me. Simon told the other dealer that "there might be a clip floating around inside the transmission and that he didn't want to work on it. The transmission has a # year 100,000 mile warranty thru Ford Motor Co. and is one of the best warrantys on the market for remanufactured transmissions. Well my point is that this guy Simon first tried to B.S. me with was the clip there or not and the "ball joint" thing . The second thing is that he wanted me to come back to San Leandro ford and drive my brand new transmission back to Oakdale to have it repaired . With shuddering and a loose clip floating around inside whick could most likely result in catastrophic failure. And the whole time he was really concerned about how many days I had the rental car which I had to borrow the money for from my 83 year old Mother due to the fact that I'm on disability. [Another dealership] in Oakdale called Simon and finally ended up going to San Leandro Ford to pick up my car . After my concerns about my car and the lack of concern from Simon for for my car by telling me to drive it even though there might be a steel clip floating around in it, and refusing to do work that Ford covers under warranty, I'm happy [the other dealership] took my car out of that place. Simon is either inexperienced or [violative content deleted] or both, and certainly [violative content deleted].
