As most of you are aware, it takes considerably longer than an hour to buy a car. I called in about a car I had seen on Edmunds. I wanted availability and pricing information. Reassured that the car was both there and in the price range I was looking for, I was told that it would be held for me in the event that I could make the hour and a half drive down to San Jose from my current position. After securing a concrete price quote via a manager, my salesperson was informed that I was on my way. He said he was standing right in front of the car. I talked to him twice more on my way to Stevens Creek Lexus. When I arrived after a very strenuous drive on the 101, I walked into this dealer and was informed that the car had been sold. This means three things: 1. The car was in a deal when I called in the first place and nobody was telling me. 2. The manager(s) at Lexus treated me as a convenient backup buyer in case their first deal on this car fell though. 3. Lexus on Stevens Creek has no respect for either my time or my gasoline. It was an empty-handed two hour drive back home after that. If you want to be treated in this disrespectful and cursory fashion - by all means shop at Stevens Creek Lexus.
