Late last year I was thinking about buying a new Corvette. I got some online quotes and Courtesy Chevrolet seemed to have the best price for the model I wanted. The back and forth emails started out good until the model I wanted was about to arrive. Then the salesman tells me he can't honor the price quote we agreed on and said "his new boss wouldn't allow that deal" and boosted up the price a over a thousand dollars. The dealership still would have made a nice profit at the agreed to price. I had a preapproved loan and down payment all ready to go. This I found out later was a classic case of low balling. Needless to say I didn't buy the car and still don't own a Corvette.
