My 2012 Tucson Experience

My Wife and I bought a new 2012 Hyundi Tucson from San Francisco Hyundi. Less than 3 three months later the engine needed to be replaced because the engine gasket was bad and leaked coolant into the engine. The only thing everyone cared about was what Hyundi Motors Company said. Not whether I was happy. The service department knew what the problem and the solution was, but they were told to wait by Hyundi Motors Company until the gasket could get tested. When I asked why, I was told that because this is a brand new car and this has never happened before, Hyundai motors wanted to make sure they knew what the problem was. I didn't buy this car from Hyundai so they could keep it in the shop testing it. When I tried to speak with the Saleís manager at San Francisco Hyundi about the problem I was given an endless run-around. Monday was his day off, Tuesday he was sick, Wednesday I called and finally spoke to him but he wasnít familiar with my issue, Thursday he didnít call me, Friday I called him but he was waiting for Hyundi Motor Company to tell him what to do. They told me to call Hyundi Motors Company and get a "case number", so they could investigate this "incident". (#4769729) The only thing they did was call to tell me they would replace my engine. Everyone offered me a rental car, which was a fiasco. The only thing available was a dirty Chevy Impala without a full tank of gas. Hyundi would only pay for the basic rental, no insurance, and I had to pay for the gas that this 6-cylendar behemoth consumed. We live in San Francisco. Normally, we could leave our vehicle parked in our neighborhood because we have a parking permit. Since the permit was with the Tucson in the shop, this rental car was a liability because there was no where to park it. I could either drive it to a lot and pay for parking every day, or leave it parked in my neighborhood and take a $50 ticket per day. I returned it after 3 days. The sales manager said Hyundi motors would only authorize him to replace the Tucson at the vehicle value, not what we paid. He said with a brand new engine, it would be a new vehicle and that my warranty and Hyundi Assurance plan would start over. (The Service Manager said that was not true.) He said he could give me a few tanks of gas and car washes and that my vehicle would be ready Wednesday. I said send me that in an email. He still hasnít done that. It took them 2 weeks to get my vehicle back and the interior was dirty. They could have at least filled the gas tank for all the trouble. I have documentation for all of this and call logs if you don't believe me. The only thing everyone cared about was what Hyundi Motors Company said. Not whether I was happy.
