Bad experience at another dealer brought me here and I'm glad it did!

My husband and I went to Thorson after actually signing the paperwork to purchase a car at another dealership. The other dealer started giving us the run-around about actually getting the new car we had purchased. They were having to trade another dealer for the car we wanted and after several calls, my car was in, my car wasn't in but was on the way, my car would be in the next day, my car wouldn't be in for at least another 3 days, I gave up on them and their condescending attitude and the car. We decided to go check out the GMC Terrain. I had seen the car after I had already started the process to buy the similar Chevy model. I love the look of the Terrain more than the Chevy and I like that it is a slightly higher-end car. We arrived on Friday night at Thorson. We were immediately drawn to a Terrain on the lot. It had everything we were looking for. We were greeted by Luke. We talked about the Terrain vs. the Chevy and eventually explained the situation at the other dealer. Luke was very honest and explained why the other dealer was probably having the difficulty they were having getting the other car. There was no excuse for their attitude but Luke was not trying to put them down to sell us a car. The Terrain was slightly more expensive than the Chevy we were purchasing. We went to the sales office and Luke and Debi, the sales manager, worked out a deal so that we not only got a slightly more expensive car that is more upgraded, but for the same price that we were paying for the Chevy. It was closing time for the dealer but at no point did we feel anyone was trying to hurry as along so that they could go home. In fact, we had our two sons with us and Debi even offered them some food that she had purchased for herself. We were taken to see Gabe in the Finance department and he did an awesome job walking us through each bit of paperwork and explained everything which had not happened at the Chevy dealership. Luke took the time to explain the features of our new car and answer any questions we had. Again, there was no rushing us, even though the dealership was closed at that point. The prep guys were gone so Luke took the car and used his own money to make sure we had at least half a tank of gas. We drove away with our new Terrain with exactly what we wanted that night. We brought it back the next morning so they could detail it and fill the tank the rest of the way. Merlin called us the next day to follow up and make sure we were completely satisfied with our experience and we are. We were treated with respect by everyone. No one was aggressive or unpleasant and even the financing process, which is usually tedious at best, was enjoyable because Gabe has such a great personaliaty. We are very, very pleased with our new car and with our experience at Thorson. Granted, we had just had an unpleasant experience at another dealership, but even if we hadn't had that comparison, I know the experience would have been just as good at Thorson. We would definitely recommend Thorson to anyone who is in the market for a GMC or Buick vehicle.
