Electric driver's seat in my 99 Accord was extremely loose, so brought it to Honda of Hayward for service. They charged me $60 for an extimate, telling me that the seat track was broken and needed to be replaced. Price estimate for this repair: $1,100 for the part plus $300 labor, total $1,400.00 I declined to repair it, instead taking it to my Cougar mechanics (1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible). They agreed that the seat trazck was broken. They offered to send it to a welding shop for repair at a cost of $300 including installation. I did it and 6 months later the part is still performing flawlessly. I'm very happy with my welded seat track.
