I call about a specific car model they had on an advertisement on their web site. A fleet mgr (I call him R) told me over the phone that they had it. I offered to buy it, put a down on it to hold it or if there was anything else we could do to hold it for us till we got there. I explained that we were from out of town and it would take a lot of effort and 2-3 hrs to get there. R told me that they could not do business over the phone, only in person. Knowing our situation, R said he would hold it for us. To make it short, my wife arrives and spends 40min doing the paper work. Then they decide to tell us that car was sold! I ask to speak to R's boss. The boss out right said by law they had no obligations to us. That they already met there quota of 5 cars at that price. He didn't even apologize. If R was really a fleet mgr, he knows if they met their quota or not. He even called us to make sure that we were on our way. I should have known something was wrong when I told them we were going to buy the car and did not need financing. R had a sudden change in his tone of voice. You can't trust R's word when he didnt either tell the truth or do what he said he was going to do. Would you trust a dealership that allows such practices.
