To sum it up, all they care is about selling you a car for the highest price possible. I've been to dealers who are willing to get you the best possible price, but Puente Hills Subaru is not one of them. Instead of giving me APR rates which I asked for, they would give me monthly payments that used higher APR rates than I qualified for. In the end, even though we agreed upon a price and were already discussing financing, they decided to sell the car to another buyer who came in after me. Make sure to read up on tips on buying a new car so people like them cannot scam you out of your money. Details: I initially went to Puente Hills Subaru to test drive a WRX. Although they said they don't let people test drive a new one, they had a used WRX for sale so they let me test drive that. Moe helped me at the time and he seemed nice enough so I went into back to purchase a WRX the next weekend. Although they were very reluctant on negotiating, we agreed upon a price slightly lower than MSRP. Make sure to ignore their “monthly payment” price they keep trying to get out of you. It is their way of raising the purchase price of the car or the APR. Once we started talking about financing, I asked many times to just give me the APR rates I qualify for. However, they used every tactic to get me to pay more: First time – gave me monthly payment rates (no APR numbers) with extended warranty, which I already told them I don't need. I ask for APR numbers. Second time, told me I qualify for 4.9 percent APR (because I'm a new buyer) with extended warranty. Told them I'll put my mom's name to lower the APR and I don't want the extended warranty. Third time, they tell me they can lower my APR (without my mom) to 2.9% with extended warranty since their bank won't have to worry about the car breaking down. Told them again I don't want the extended warranty. Finally, they came back saying they could just give me the 2.9% APR without my mom. So this whole time, they were trying to sell the car with higher APR and with the extended warranty. At some point when we were discussing the financing options, they tell me someone else came in who was interested in the same car. After we agreed on the 2.9% APR, Moe and the manager went to “discuss” something. They made me wait around for 45 minutes and Moe finally came back to say I didn't qualify for the 2.9% APR and they're letting the customer who came in after me buy the car. Obviously they were able to sell the car at a higher price to the other customer and they were just making me wait so they can finalize the deal with the other customer who can in after me. At that point, I walked out because I was sick of their tactics and lack of customer service. Before going in, make sure to research the vehicle price and special offers for that month. Don't let them catch you with their tricks.
