Nothing Spectacular

Took my mom to purchase the new ILX. Nothing special in the buying process or negotiating process. Sales person was nothing special and [non-permissible content removed]. Manager was nothing special and [non-permissible content removed]. Finance guy was [non-permissible content removed] and we were buying the car all cash. Fought from beginning to end for the vehicle and price. Even after agreeing on the price the salesman tried to increase it on the paperwork thinking we will miss it. They tried to add on weird charge for a tracking system that would have a serial number on all parts of the car, "just in case it is ever stolen." I said we didn't want it so the finance guy said he will have to possibly have to add it back to the original purchase price of the vehicle because we were not buying it separately. Argued with him that we didn't want it so we didn't not want to pay for it. He had to "call someone" to find out if we didn't have to pay for it. Annoying and stupid process. Not a good buying experience, but when is it ever when you go to almost any car dealer. Funny story in the beginning: GM guy told us another couple was there trying to buy the same car we were. I told them the price was too high and we were leaving. Me and mom were leaving and were walking to my car. The GM came running out asking why we were leaving. I told the GM guy that I can get a better deal through the Costco program at another dealership and was about to head over there. He told me to call them on the spot. So I pulled out my phone and was about to call and he stopped me and quickly offered me a better deal. Look on his face was priceless when I pulled out my phone to call another dealership in front of him. At that point I knew his other supposed deal did not happen. Anyway, like I said, nothing spectacular here. You are still fighting for your price of the car and car until ALL the paperwork is signed and you drive off the lot. Total time spent..roughly 6 hours...OUCH!!! But my mom got her car that she wanted.
