Lease Payment - $628/mo, MSRP - $62599
by moolie26 on Tue May 20 04:43:19 PDT 2008
Hi - I'm not sure if this the proper place to post this. I am considering a lease on an 2007 Escalade, with an MSRP of $62.5K. This is a lease transfer on a 39 month lease. There are 29 mos remaining on this lease. The car has 4800 miles on it, and is in new condition. The lady had put a considerable down payment on the lease and has now decided that the Escalade is not for her. Her payments are $628/mo (inclusive of tax), with 10K mi/year. With 29 months remaining on this lease, the average miles per month for the remainder of the lease term will be 1000/mo. This seems to be a very good deal to get into an Escalade with the only upfront costs to me being $595 lease transfer fee. Would it be worthwhile to look at new lease options as well, or am i looking at a pretty good deal here. Are there other things i need to consider or should think about in terms of end of lease costs. Thanks in advance for any help.

I never negotiate on payment of any kind, so the other numbers i'm fine with. I have just seen on here that there is $1450 lease cash and the dealer checked and said that there is only $950. Also, on here I've seen that the residual for 39 mos w/ 12,000 miles is 55%, but he says that it's 52% for 36 mos w/15,000 miles less 1% for the additional 3 months, but plus 3% for 12,000 miles = 54% ( not 55%). He also verified the 4% rate. I was just trying to find out why there is the 1% difference on the residual value and the $500 difference on lease cash. thanks.
Winter? Not a Problem with Winter Tires
by macsfriended on Fri Oct 12 20:33:18 PDT 2007
For chillinphil and others concerned about winter driving: I had same concerns in St. Louis, MO re snow driving with my Lincoln Mk VII. I bought quality winter snow and ice tires, and that Mk VII acted like it was a snowmobile. Different cars and PU trucks used Blizzaks, Michelin and Bridgestone winter specific tires and I never had reason to wonder about winter driving. We have a Winter Park, CO ski week timeshare - second week in January each year and specifically played in the snow with different vehicles. NO Problems. Buy the car you want - Put quality WINTER tires on it - and GO MAN GO. Ed

Carman, Can you please respond to the 2008 CTS lease data? I'm interested as well in lease rates and residuals for 36 mos at 10K and 12K miles/yr. Jabber
Lease Rates & Residuals 2008 SRX
by goodtogo on Thu Aug 30 06:35:30 PDT 2007
I am considering leasing a 2008 SRX for 24 mos/12k miles?. What are the current GM lease rates and residuals for both the V-6 and V-8 models. Not many V-8's around in the Northeast. Any special deals on the V-8 beyond the Conquest Cash and Lease Cash described in your Aug 27 reply to Stevef5. Would a 36 mos/12k per year lease be better?
