Back in MAY, I wanted a CXL AWD in Gold Mist, with the Cocoa interior. I needed the car within a week, as my old car had been totalled. I found the color and equipment in Ohio (I am in MD). Two dealers stated they would DX with the Ohio dealer for the one I wanted. However, both of the Buick dealers jerked me around to try to buy what they had in stock. This drove me to look elsewhere, and I got an Audi Q7 for only $10 more per month on the lease than the Buick. The Buick was nice, but the Audi is a lot nicer, includes the maintenance, and was a much better deal financially.

Lwolf99: You need to stick to your invoice offer, or go with the other dealer. I think they will continue the Conquest rebates, as that $ is crucial to attracting buyers to the vehicle. I would recommend looking out side your metro area to other dealers in Central PA, Eastern Ohio, or MD to see what they have in stock. At the end of last month, when I was shopping hard, each of the 4 I was dealing with told me they would sell at invoice for what they have in stock. I hate to say it, but these dealers will DEAL when they know they have something to sell. Check around on GMBuyPower to see which dealers have exactly what you want. Also, with the July holidays coming up, as well as the end of June, you should be able to get the deal you want. These places need to sell some units. My closest dealer (in Cockeysville, MD) still has the same 2 CXL Enclaves (in Red and Silver) as when I tried to buy 4 weeks ago. There is demand for the Enclaves, but they know buyers expect invoice deals on GM cars.

I think you need to find another dealer. When I was shopping at the end of last month, at least 3 local (MD) dealers were willing to sell me a nearly identical Enclave as yours at invoice price. The 7.7% sounds a little high (if your credit score is below 700 they may be raising the rate above 7.2% I was quote). Also, the dealers I dealt with were quoting a 36 month residual of 63%, so the 67% sounds a bit low. Using the Edmunds Lease calculator (http://www.edmunds.com/apps/calc/CalculatorController?pmtcalAction=lease_calc) I came up to a payment of $727.17 before taxes. The deal you have been shown seems high. For the equipment you specified, I came to an invoice of $41679. Given that it already as 800 miles on it, I would start at a price below invoice. Even at invoice, you should get a price of about $40679 (invoice less the conquest rebate). They seem to be gauging you in several ways, first the price, then the lease payment. Negotiate the price first, and then get a lease quote from a leasing company. Now that you can go on GMBuyPower.com to see what OTHER dealers have the exact car you want. I would recommend shopping around until you find the car you want. I recall seeing several in the Cocoa/Cashmere combination, so if you are near a metro area, you sould be able to find one quickly. With the end of the month approaching, I would shop around as there will be several willing to make deals. I did all of my shopping via the phone and Email. I found the internet managers at most dealers were more willing to negotiate as well.

Glimo: did the dealer in Laurel MD make you come into their offices to do the order, or did they do it over the phone/fax? Due to the distance, and related 295/95/695 traffic, I would like to not waste 45-60 minutes each way in traffic. We went in person. They didn't say a visit was necessary, but I would've done it anyway since this is a big purchase and too many things can go wrong. If you read the recent posts in the Acadia/Outlook/Enclave thread, you'd probably do the same.

Re: Buick Enclave: Prices Paid & Buying Experience [boomzer]
by glimo on Tue May 15 07:36:55 PDT 2007
Boomzer, are all those GM offers a side benefit of your GM card? Did you have to sign up for special notifications? If I can get another $1k off on top of the conquest cash, that would be grand! It's too late for me to get a new GM card and accrue points, but if I'm lucky enough, I might receive a coupon for Enclave. The MD dealer i dealt with wasn't really pleasant when we first started negotiating in person. The sales person gave us a nasty look and said the price was way too low. It sounded like he wasn't motivated to sell the car at that price at all. So we left his office and talked directly to his manager. Though at the end we were not able to get the price lowered, at least he took off the doc/registration fees and gave us some free services. Now we just need to do our own tagging and registration.
