Wake Up GM
by bondguy1 on Tue Mar 11 17:05:09 PDT 2008
I have never owned an American manufactured car and would never consider one (unless, maybe a Corvette...but not right now in my life with 3 young kids). Anyway, looking at the Mazda CX9, Volkswagen Toureg 2, Acura MDX and one or two others. Why is GM offering such a nice vehicle but then making it so outrageously expensive that the lease programs SUCK. If I were buying it, no problem. Go to my bank, not the dealership, and get a good finance rate...end of story. But, for leasing...quoted for a very loaded (no Hard Drive NAV, No DVD, No Rear Camera system)...does include the package with the rotating headlamps, remote start, back up beeping in bumper, dual moonroofs and one or two other miscelaneous add ons...sticker price of car was $39,400 list. Price with $1,500 at start total, 15K miles annually, 39 months was $681 including the sales tax of 6 1/2%. Is this a good deal? For 36 months, same miles, $658/month. Now, this was without some options as stated above. It did have the bigger chrome wheel package available in CA, TX and FL only. It's really a shame to me because for a car that is loaded at $43,000 area, with about the $1,000 to $1,500 total at start, I would expect to pay about $550-$650/month. I also was looking at a Japanese car (Infiniti) with a sticker price of $51,000 and the lease for 39 months with $1,000 due total at start was about the same...$650 plus tax. I know there are many factors involved including residuals, lease factors and such but GM finally got a car I am somewhat interested in and they are screwing it up for themeselves and everybody who would otherwise want to lease one at a competitive rate...which they definitely are NOT!!! Shame on you GM...you lost my business for a long time (not that you ever had it before but now you'll never get it).

The Fresno CA dealer, Kitahara, seems to always have 2-4 Enclaves at the front of their lot. Jim, the fleet guy, was willing to deal with us. We ended up buying from Carriage Motors in Temecula for $500 over invoice on October 10, because they had the red one I was looking for and I wanted to avoid the ordering wait I have read about. The Bay Area dealers seemed MSRP -and-up only when we did our shopping. Good luck. I heartily endorse this vehicle.

From what I have read on the other forums, it makes a great deal of difference what part of the country you are in as to delivery times. I am in rural north CA and we seem to be the slowest part of the country. Regardless, it will be worh it all ---
Finally got mine
by hondaford on Sat Nov 24 13:33:13 PST 2007
Ordered mine on 20 August. Delivered on 21 November. Ken Fowler Buick in Ukiah CA was good. Good price, helpful salesman, careful delivery, explaining and answering questions, and insuring that all systems were go. Salesman found a problem that was fixed while we were doing our paper work. I will have to change my name from Honda Ford to Buick Ford :)

Finally found one in Northern CA. Wife and I drove and loved. Made dealer an offer the same as I could get from a costco rep. They accepted! Salesman was an older man, knowledgeable, helpful and not pushy. I am not in a big hurry, ordered luxury package that I am reading about in other posts as a delaying item. Am wondering about conquest cash. Was told that depends on delivery date, not order date. Confirm or deny?
When will production catch up?
by hondaford on Tue Aug 07 09:25:12 PDT 2007
My lease is up in Oct and Enclaves remain rarer than hens teeth here in northern Ca. I have not even found one to drive. I have driven the acadia and ourlook, but want the buick (I think). Looking for an informed opinion as to when the production will catch up with the demand. I could extend my lease another 6 months and be ready to buy in April 08. But, will conditions be any better then????????? My nearest dealer had one in stock (1 1/2 hours of rough road away), by the time I was able to go check it out, it was sold and their next arrival (1) will be the end of next week. :confuse:
