I am on East Coast...Northern Virginia and want to buy a semi-loaded X-6 V-8. The best deal I can find is $1,000 over invoice plus crappy trade-in since it is a Lexus. Some even want $299 dealer processing fee to boot. Do you mind sharing the name of a few dealers and who you spoke with that will freely offer INVOICE price without any games,,,,please. Thanks, Steve Haymarket, Virginia kr5flute@yahoo.com

WOW! My local dealer has four 328's left (all white over beige) and he is only willing to go down to invoice. I told him I thought he was nuts, but now I know he's just a thief.

Finally, was told that if I wanted to within 60 days of the end of the lease, the dealer would take repossession of the car, certify it as BMW CPO, and would offer it back to me at about $3,000 over the purchase option price. The CPO would add 2 yrs and 50,000 miles to the warranty. Do other dealers do this? I'm sure any dealer would love to take back you lease car, CPO it and sell it back to you for $3000 over purchase option price! If they could do this with all of their lease returns, they'd never have to sell anything else. Why not buy an extended warranty, avoid more sales taxes, and keep an extra grand for yourself?

The MF for 535i is higher: .00155. But the residual is identical to 528i.

I know what the problem is. You're trying to lease a 2009 car. That's a HUGE MISTAKE as the residuals are very low. If you want a 2009, you should buy it. But if you want to lease, get the 2010 and your payments will be much lower.

You didn't mention what state you're in -- the tax rate included in the payment can be significant in some places. You also did not mention what your negotiated price is. But $840 a month is what one should pay for a 550i fairly well loaded. You should not pay more than $500- $1,000 over invoice for a 535i, and you certainly shouldn't be paying more than $750 a month.
