$x over invoice..
by scottc3 on Sat Dec 29 17:27:26 PST 2007
OK, seems we have all the data for 'over invoice' price we should pay. But, my question is; what is the invoice price we are all comparing to? I recently bought a new Toyota Prius - wanted the gas mileage (50 miles per gal) - and I have a 1990 BMW 535i which is still in great shape. In that 'buying experience', there was always a question of the actual invoice price. My paperwork included a dealer holdback of $446 and something called Wholesale rebate for $223 - then there was an advertising fee - all to come up with the 'invioice price'. So, the total was what I would call invoice price was $X + 446 + $223. Is this how it's working with BMW's also? What is the base INVOICE price for a 325i. 2007 or 2008 - are we all using Edmunds to figure this price? Thanks sc

Bought a '08 328i convertible, red, auto is the only option in Myrtle Beach, SC for $43,250plus taxes. I think the MSRP was 45,250. Couldnt bring any further down as it was the only car that I could find in the near by location. Each dealer gets 2/3 cars on the 3 series covertible. This model doesnt qualify for 3.9 financing so got only 5.9%. dont know about leasing/residuals Convertibles (hardtop) seems to b a hot ticket.

... and the Z4 leaves our shores soon as well. Believe the upcoming X6 will be built in SC, but no coupes or sedans at this time. Does the X6 come across as something spawned in a marketing meeting? Agree that the 550i is an incredible car. Although the MB e550 has more HP, the driving experience is totally unique in the BMW. I have the '03 530 and have driven the 535SP at length (brother owns one). Still love that BMW straight 6! The 550i premium over the 535 may seem steep, but you just have to drive them to experience the difference, subtle it may be.

The X3 is assembled in Austria.. It won't be made in SC, until the 2009 or 2010 model... X5 and Z4... for now.. Thanks for the clarification.
