That price is OK...mainly that low due to low miles, but remember, the warranty is also time limited. I got my 2007 550i CPO with 35k miles last Feb for $35k...its original MSRP was $70k. pass on the wheelguard/tire. If you want to get the maintenance plan, shop around. You can buy it later and I have seen it for as low as $1800.

Firebird_EOU, the 'dealer profit' of $500 was quite easy, although they did know me at the dealership and knew that I was looking at lots of dealers, and I had all my figures with me. That is why I said it was an OK deal, as it seemed to come quite easy. I am still happy with the price I paid.

Asterix, you are comparing apples to oranges. Are you really comparing a 5 series BMW, one of the highest rated cars in the world, with a Toyota? Now, I love a Toyota, it's a fabulous car. If you wanted to compare it to a Lexus, that would be OK. Also, Toyota requires maintenance. Also, have you ever wondered why Lexus service operates late hours? If you have a Lexus, you can bring it for service in the middle of the night practically. WHY would they need to keep their service center's open so late if the cars didn't need servicing? My neighbor brings his car like 10PM or 11PM (he had an appt at that time). They are clearly a top rated vehicle also, but Lexus also requires servicing. ALL these high end cars require servicing. It goes with the territory.
Re: 335 conv lease question [wahoo90]

No problem wahoo90. OK, so the 2009 335i Convertible that you are interested in has an MSRP of $55,400 and a selling price of $52,315. This car probably has a spread of around $4,100 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. Add to that the $1,000 cash incentive that BMW is currently providing on leases of this car (this allowance is larger in the West) and you have a total of around $5,100 to play with during your negotiations. This puts the offer that the dealer made to you at around $2,000 over invoice. That's enough room that it probably wouldn't hurt to comparison shop a little to see if you can beat this offer. BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor for this car is indeed .00180 for returning customers or new ones that pay a security deposit at lease signing. BMW 750 Lease
by mark1234 on Tue Sep 15 16:58:28 PDT 2009
I just wanted to give everyone an update on my experience in Virginia. I have a 2007 BMW 530xi coming off lease in the next month or so. Although I was happy with my car, I was looking to upgrade. I was really just looking to get another one but there was a 2009 750 loaded and on the lot. The dealership was ready to deal. It was fully loaded for an MSRP of 96,000. They were willing to take 4000 off sticker, plus 3000 off loyalty for a lease, so I was basically getting the car at invoice. I though long and hard, even drove it for a few days, and it is as advertised and then some. However, though the lease rates seemed OK, the residual was 47%, and it still added up to $1568/month. The bottom line was I found it hard to justify leasing a car with that much depreciation. I have always felt that the 5 series was the perfect balance between the 3-series (too small) and the 7-series (too big), as well as making more sense if the cost to benefit ratio. I finally settled on the 550. Mark1234
Re: 2010 535i 36-mth lease question [acurious]
by rbr on Thu Aug 27 12:12:10 PDT 2009
acurious -- maybe carman will chime in, but I believe the official BMW rate for a 2010 535i is .00155, so the rest is going to the dealer, and you should be able to find a dealer that will give you .00155. Knowledge is power ... stick to your guns. Prepaying for mileage overages probably makes sense given that the per mile rate is less, but is that recoverable in the event the car is totalled? Still may be worth it though. Good luck. I'm picking up a 2009 535xi on Saturday, MSRP around $63,000, 36 months, 15K/year, .0005 MF, 1 month security deposit and 1st months payment up front, for about $650 including tax. Car has about 1,500 miles on it at the dealer and is still being sold as new. I think I did OK.
