Buying a car from a BMW Car Dealer
BMW seems to go up to about 3% discount before corporate discounts or other terms (like e.g. trade-ins). So, discount looks standard for ordered vehicle. Deposit seems high, I had to put down $1000 for a fully loaded 550i in Chapel Hill, NC. However, since you get it back when the car arrives, the "damage" is only of temporary nature. I too was told, that a a specific lease offer expires after 60 days, which is roughly the time it takes to get the car here. So, the timing of locking the best rate in is relevant, since you will be protected against hikes and benefit from lower rates as long as you are in the 60 day window. All bets seem to be off after that. Good luck!
Thought I'd let y'all know what I negotiated. '06 BWM 330i with mystic blue metallic Sports package Comfort access Sat radio prep Carpets Wheel locks Price: $38,300 including ad and doc fees, not including tax and tag. MSRP is around $40,120 and invoice is around $36,800. So I'm basically paying $1,500 over invoice and $1,800 under MSRP. I used Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, NC. Could have probably saved a couple hundred more by going to Charlotte or one of the Triad dealerships but once you factor in the travel hassle it wasn't worth it since I live in Chapel Hill. Let me know what you think of the deal and I hope this help in your car hunting...
Hi: I'm in Chapel Hill, NC and the dealer is offering $ 45,920 as purchase price. What lease number would be reasonable for 24 months, 15,000 miles and with 2,500 down? Thanks for any help. Jay
