Re: 528i and 535i MF & Residual [jrothen4] by topaz9986 on Tue Feb 15 09:22:28 PST 2011

1st, let me say great job on getting 6% off MSRP. How hard did you need to push as my local dealer in NC wont go any higher than $2,000 off an MSRP of slightly over $55,000. This is mainly due to little to no competition in my market. The one question I have is why are the leases on the 5 series are so high right now. My friend recently leased a new M37s for $650 a month with a total of $650 down (39 mos, 12k per year) with a 54,500 MSRP. I take it they are highly discounting the M's which is why they can offer such a competitive deal right now (and they may not be selling well). I am just finding the local BMW dealer not willing to discount as much as others I have seen on this forum. Your deal looks real good to me. I read on some other posts in this forum about giving multiple security deposits to lower money factor, but not sure if that is of interest. Good luck!

We bought a certified pre-owned 2008 BMW 535i last October. The car is a joy! Maintenance costs so far have included an alignment, at the cost of $175 -- which is high for that service. Otherwise, a little indicator light comes on telling us to get service, we go to the dealership, and leave without paying a dime because, frankly, we have already paid for the service in the purchase price. The plan is to trade up to a 2011 around this time next year. Without hesitation. Allow me to suggest buying the lowest miles and only from a reputable dealer who will stand behind the car and help you advocate if there are any warranty issues. All dealerships are not created equal. Go out of town if you must. Also, after the test drives, we did almost all negotiating via e-mail. Much more pleasant.

Re: CPO-528-34Kmiles-$36K [shyamy] by phylp on Mon May 03 12:59:32 PDT 2010

shyamy, yes, without more info it is hard to compare. But, without more info, maybe the price is somewhat high at this point in the 2010-2011 model year. I purchased a certified 2008 BMW 535i in October 2009, with 26,000 miles, for a couple thousand dollars more than what you have been quoted. I thought the price was fair then and now. The dealer also "threw in" a new set of tires, a year of Sirius radio, and two sets of new floor mats (one carpeted and one rubber). I valued those concessions as being part of the deal and made an allowance of $1000. I also got the color I wanted, the great comfort seats, and the previous drivers were non-smokers (it was a demo). Happy hunting.

Good 335i Offer(s)? by wbb56 on Sat Mar 27 11:20:13 PDT 2010

I need a little figuring out whether the deals below are reasonable, and if not, what I should offer. My current lease (2007 335i) ends in 3 weeks-I've made my last payment so I can turn the car in at anytime. My mileage is currently 43,181 on 36k lease. Offer 1: Purchase my car after certification for $33,500 which sounds high to me. They would then apply my $4800 security deposit to the total, financing the balance at 2.9%. I may or may not add extra cash (up to 8k) to reduce the payment. Offer 2: Lease a new 335i that they have on the lot that just happens to be almost exactly what I want. It lacks Cold Weather, but does have heated seats and also includes Nav which I don't need. Otherwise it's perfect. MSRP: 51,200 Selling Price: 48,788.00 Doc Fee: 399.00 Acquisition Fee: 925.00 Customer Cash:$4800.00 Rebates: $2500.00 Amt. Applied Upfront: 795.67 Total Cap Reduction: 6,504.33 Residual: 57% (12k lease) Residual Amt.: 29,184.00 Base monthly payment: $528.05 Tax: $15.84 Total Payment: $543.89 What do you think? Good deals? Better to buy out or lease. I do love my car and would be fine with it for years to come. Thanks very much in advance!

2009 328i quote by packfan98 on Mon Oct 26 17:15:02 PDT 2009

I received the following lease quote for a 2009 328i (leather, premium package, 17" wheels, heated seats). 36 months/10,000 miles a year. I know the money factor is high and I am going to ask that it be reduced to BMW's current rate (I think it is .00220). Do the other amounts/figures look reasonable (in particular, the cap amount)? Thank you msrp 41050 residual 60% cap 36800 base monthly rental $476.22 NC monthly use tax $14.29 total monthly $490.51 Upfront $3000.51 ($490.51 1st payment, tag, title and cap reduction $2130) money factor .00285
