X5 IS OVER PRICED: by s550iwish on Sun Jul 29 21:29:17 PDT 2007; In my opinion i think the X5 is overpriced. I went to Desert BMW out here in las vegas and the $59k for a car thats msrp is $45k????? They also didnt have the color i wanted. We told the guy we didnt want the 3rd row seat but he tried to order us one with that and premium pkg and everything under the sun. We just wanted a base 2007 X5 3.0 SAV for under $50k. Instead we bought a 2007 Mercedes Benz ML350. I am very happy. :)

Re: 5 Series Lease Help [sdsualums]: by jamiew on Tue Feb 07 07:43:41 PST 2006; I too have been fed this line here in the bay area, but after some shopping around have determined that the rate is still negotiable, down to the base rate (even with money off the MSRP) depending on the model you are buying. I have definitely found that dealers are only really willing to negotiate in earnest when they know you are serious about closing the deal, and in any event I would start by negotiating the purchase price and then move on to financing/leasing terms. You can always find alternative financing (though your bank, a third party leasing agent, or even a second mortgage/line of credit if you own property). If all else fails, consider going outside the immediate vicinity (even as far as Oregon or LA) because you may find better deals elsewhere... the dealers here seem to believe they can demand the sun and the moon and the stars....
