Re: 528i in Dallas [freezedog]

I agree, here in Miami Fl dealers are charging .00245 which is a little lower, but still high, it seems the dealers in Dallas are marking up the MF by .35 +/- . I have a feeling BMW Financial will lower the MF after the new 5 is unveiled on Nov 23rd, maybe they come out with better lease programs for December. Dont rush and wait, they will lower it or they just wont be able to move the last units before the new 5 hits showrooms.
Re: price of 2008 328i CPO & 2008 335i CPO [peper2008]

Peper, the 2008 328i costed that much new! Therefore, they should have a selling price to be a couple of thousand$ less! I do not know exactly what the price was, but I have leased 2008 328i with metallic paint and BMW Assist, MSRP of $34,400, which cap value, i.e., selling price, came to be $32,400. Note that this was in May 2005, while the prices were still w/o much discounts in Miami, which happened to be a hot BMW market. Therefore, I believe that you should easily be able to get it for about $2,000 less. However, if I would be you, I would rather opt for a 2009, because both the front and tail are much more different than 2008, and therefore it will be very visible that you are driving an old Bimmer...
What is a decent price?

Looking for a 328i with metallic paint, automatic, and premium package. I have visited the two dealers in Miami, FL and have requested quotes via email from all dealers in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale,FL and so far I am not even close to sniffing a price near the invoice price. The best I have gotten so far is $36,500. Is this a decent price? These dealers do not want to budge no matter what. Any suggestions?
Leasing my first car
by jps0429 on Sat Apr 19 20:51:01 PDT 2008
I have never leased a car, so I am pretty new to this. I have heard two opinions on leasing and don't really know which is best... Should I put a lot down to get a lower payment? Or should I only pay what I need and fight for a good rate? I have near perfect credit, its at 820 right now. I am trading in a 2002 Acura CL type S I have never owned a BMW, so I do not know how much I can talk them down on pricing or a monthly payment... I am pretty much hoping to walk out with a new 328i coupe w/ automatic, sport & premium package for under 500 a month... you think I could do that? I live in Miami, FL. any help would be great!!!! I appreciate it.

Unfortunately - as the car will be titled and registered in Texas -- one of the #(#@(@ states that requires you to pay taxes on the FULL cap purchase price (we're down to $77K on the $89K MSRP) -- we've got ~6300 in taxes to pay over the 2 years added to our monthly lease (or write a $6200 check up front and pay the taxes separately). We got the MF down to .00215, acq fee to $625, and selling price to $77,290 - our monthly payments (before taxes) are $1039, Heck of a good deal. Working on figuring out a way to potentially initially register the vehicle in Florida while doing the finance deal (i.e. finally get around to getting a Florida license - they allow "part time" licenses and allow you to keep your state license. Register the car in Florida (Miami - Dade county is the deal place) - have the tags sent to us in Texas; and re-register the car in Texas later this year. As we have a condo in Miami - I already consider myself a "part-time" resident - we spend 3-4 months a year there; just never thought about getting a FL Drivers License. Anyone ever done this before? Will be a big savings on the monthly payment -- our monthly taxes will be arounmd $65 a month (total payment 1103) vs $262 for Texas Taxes (the 6300 / 24 months), or a payment of 1301. Nearly $200 month savings over 24 months, $4800 (or in my mind, close enough to call it $5K). Appreciate feedback/thoughts
$500 above invoice being realistic !?

Although this was in response to #2240 of 2243, Re: 328i Money Factor and Residual [jun2] by stvroy, Stvroy please take this just as an initiation of the discussion, as I did not want to challenge you. Actually, I understand that may be some cases of this happening, however, I would like to know where I could get a BMW at $500 above invoice. The best that I have gotten is $1,000 for the ordered cars, when shopping around and certainly outside Miami, Florida, which actually meant that they have collected a grand for filling up the paper. In Miami they stick to minimal discounts off the MSRP, while crying that they have to make money somehow, while at the same time they raise the acquisition to $825, MF for 0.0004, and whatever else they can to rip us (the buyers) off. As I do not have any problems in ordering my car from anywhere else, I would love to get at least some dealerships that actually sell cars at $500 above invoice, and preferably without trying to pull some BS excuses and such. Thank you.
