Re: End of Lease Experiece [two50man]

two50man, I have a CPO 2007 530i, with almost identical features except the split rear seats and ski thing (whatever that is). I bought it last June at Greenwich CT BMW when it had 24K miles on the clock, they were asking $36,900, and came down to $36,200. The car is pristine, and still smells new even. It runs beautifully and I love it. It has a set of Bridgestone Potenza low profiles on it, I have Sports pkg also, and the sport rims that come with it. I am wondering if my tires are "run flats" how can I tell? Since I have a donut for a spare, I have to assume I have the run flats? I s that a correct assumption? My dealer told me just the opposite, that if I have a donut, then I don't have run flats. Can any one shed some light on it? Also, I read an article in the WSJ lately, that those same Bridgestone's are about $410 each. That seems like a lot of money. They are practically new, so I don't need to worry about it yet.
Re: Good Price for X5 diesel? [clymer]

Go for it. I just paid a lot more for a new, less equipped X5D because I did not have time to shop around. The going rate is invoice or 500 over for a new X5D and you are getting it for a lot less. I got mine for 500 over invoice in CT. Enjoy your vehicle.
The 530i again....
by gardis on Tue May 26 15:07:27 PDT 2009
Guys, Listen to this. The salesman wanted to deliver the car to me in CT, and take mine away. He was going to give me a price on the spot for the trade in. Just like that. I said no dice. And no negotiating on the 530i. Anyway..I have been working with a nice gal at one of my local BMW dealers for awhile on finding me a car. She had an identical Alpine Wht 2007 530i last December that I passed, because I was too new to it, price was starting $34,679, and then came down to $30350 three months later. Had 31K miles on it. I mentioned to her about this car in the far dealership that I was interested in, and she told me "I can get the car for you." meaning, bring the car to her local dealership and sell it to me!! She seems very willing to negotiate, and always says "it's negotiable." Unlike the former dealer. Have you ever heard of a dealer bringing in a car from another dealer because one of their customers wants it?? I guess it's like the real estate agents, who co-share the listings? I never heard of that. Anyway, I'm going to let her get the car after I tell her what I want to pay, which is: $34,000 OUT THE DOOR (OTD), including the trade in. what do you think of that price? Or should I wait for her to tell me what she's willing to do?
2007 BMW 335i Coupe CPO
by sellaturcica on Mon Mar 30 20:05:44 PDT 2009
Listed for $35.995, got down to $31,995 with the fact that I didn't want to buy today and walking out of the dealership. Is this a decent price on a silver CPO 335i coupe with 28k miles, 6 speed, navigation, cold weather, sport package? Is buying the first year of a turbo engine a bad idea?
PRe owned 2007 x5
by gardis on Mon Dec 29 08:28:17 PST 2008
Folks: There's a pre-owned 2007 X5, Alpine white, 6K miles, they're asking $38,900, when it seems all the other vehicles like that are in the mid $40K at least. What is wrong with this picture? The car is like new. I hear gas mileage isn't so hot though. For one person with no kids, that's a little big isn't it? I'm also looking 5 series CPO also. I know, no comparison, but just wondering what your thoughts are. Thanks. Gardis in CT gardis72@gmail.com
Question
by NeworUsed on Mon Feb 02 14:43:23 PST 2009
I have been reading the last few pages in this thread, and you posters have a lot of experience and knowledge on the BMW 3-series as well as buying them so I feel comfortable asking a question here. I am in the market for a 3-series, unfortunately I can't afford to buy a new one however I can afford a used vehicle. I was looking around the 2001-04 models which I have the cash now to buy out right but they have no warranty and who knows what repairs I might have to make in the future. So I went to check out a lease instead, low down payment, reasonable monthly payments, plus the free maintenance makes it pretty tempting. I went to two dealers, one give me an offer for a 09(I believe it was 09 as I went early January) 328i Xdrive, real leather, powerseats(basically the cold weather package) for 550/month, 2331 due on signing while another one afford basically the standard package 09' 328ix for 497/month, 3646.86 due upfront with a residual value at 22,390.50(the car's worth now is about36-38k). Now, the only reason I wanted a AWD was because I live in CT and we have had our share of bad snow storms over the years(especially this winter) but I have a Honda Pilot which is great in the snow however I not a big fan of SUVs. Maybe I should instead look at the RWD. So my question is do I buy a used 2001-04 BMW 3-series which I can afford to buy out right but doesn't have a warranty and is in the 50-80k miles or do I lease one with a warranty, 0$ maintenance fee but obviously I end up paying more in the end. Maybe i should look in the middle and finance a certified used from one of the dealers. What would be the best move? I have never owned a BMW and the main reason why I want one is for the aesthetics and reputation of the company. I'm not really into fancy luxury features, I just want to feel comfortable in the car(leg room, my butt not feeling sore after a long ride) and I want to feel confident about the car, that it won't let me down over the years of due to use. Hope you guys can help me.
