ooh, THANKS for doing the math. I'm in Los Angeles, CA (tax is 8.25). I was confused because he said that the residual was 79% and MF was .0024...is this even possible? (i would be a new bmw leasee, not qualify for loyalt prog). I was asking for monthly to be $420/month...which would put it a healthy +5% over invoice, a fair offer. Also, I didn't want premium package, just leather and Xenon headlights and he said BMW doesn't offer cars w/out packages...?! He wouldn't budge (didn't have to) because they had sold out of all inventory of 528i because of the $1k incentive...thanks to you, I'm definitely going to check around. Happy New Year!

Can I lease a 535 for less than 650/mo?
by jamesd553 on Wed Dec 12 11:01:33 PST 2007
I've played around with the lease calculator and it seems to work out if I am close to invoice and 3 year, 10000 mi/yr with 3500 drive off, lease on a 535 with sports, premium package. I am in Los Angeles, CA. I haven't seen anyone post that but I was wondering if it is possible. Some dealers I've talked to said no.

Your quote seems to be in the ballpark +/- $10-15 p.m. I was quoted $435 (incl. tax) for the exact same spec in CA. However, the drive off was $1650 (which includes $825 acquistion fee, first month w/tax $435, license, tax & reg $283, doc fee $45, and the balance as taxes). The dealer used a MF of 0.0018 and said it would be 0.00165 if I was an existing BMW customer. I believe with the security deposit of $450, you should have been able to bring the monthly down a little bit. With some more negotiations you could have probably got it for around $420 with taxes and $1600-$1800 drive off. So overall I think you got a decent deal and did not get taken. Which state are you in and who was the dealer?

The person I was dealing with is the "Internet Director". I believe the reason I got such a low MF is because I am a returning BMW Financial customer. At least that is what I've read on this forum. I believe the lowest MF for a returning customer is 0.0015.
