When to order a new X3
by al_macaroni on Thu Jun 19 12:16:56 PDT 2008
My wife has an e90 330i with a lease ending in late September. We are thinking about moving to a new X3 as its replacement. I have three questions. 1. Does anyone know when the 2009 X3 production begins? When would I place an order for a 2009? 2. What is the latest date I can order a 2008 so it is built before the factory transitions to the 2009 production year? 3. What is the typical length of time it takes to receive an X3 after an order is placed? Thanks

June residual for 528 xi is 69% for 24 mos. 10K. I saw that the residual for 528 was 70% for 24 mons 10K, as per another forum. I saw you are from NJ. Lot's of dealerships to chose from. Lot's of competition. Which dealership did you go to, if you don't mind my asking? :D

I think you made a typo and the inceptions are $1749. doesn't look like a bad deal considering residuals went down alot since Feb. when I bought a similarly equipped 528xi (except I got the xenons as well) and my lease is for 12K/36 months. I am paying slighly less, but I got the $2500 dealer cash. My sale price BEFORE the trunk cash was $50300 so...... Good luck! :)

$700 for gap insurance or did you mean security deposit? GAP should be inlcuded and not extra.

wow......overall except the $1500 down on the lease. One should never put $$$ down, but otherwise. I did get the tire warranty for my 528xi. I put 3 tires in 2 years on a 2005 Lexus (potholes) and that would have more than paid for tire warranty. I would advise, though to either bargain with dealer over tire warranty or get it on your own cheaper. good luck and et us know what you decide.

The tire option could be something to think about. Since the X5 has run flats the cost of replacing a tire can be very expensive. I took the tire policy on my 2008 X5 because I was told it not only covered the tires but also the rims. Considering the high cost of the rims and the high cost of the tires if you have to replace one of each during your lease it would probably pay for itself. Check to see if the policy also covers the rims. I had the excess wear and tear on my last X5 and collected $400 for damages to the car. My policy had no deductible and was extremely easy to collect on. Once BMW inspected the car and assessed my security deposit for the damage I sent the paperwork to the insurance company and they reimbursed me with no questions asked. I hope this helps you.
