1999 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T 4D Sedan AWD: by adamsclasps on Sun Oct 01 20:44:49 PDT 2006; I am thinking of getting a used 1999 A4 1.8T at a local Carmax in Nashville, TN. I test drove it and it felt okay but when I tried to join the hiway traffic, it felt very sluggish with high rev noise as I tried to gain upto 60-70mph. Is this normal for this kind of car? The mileage is (Valumax) 83K. I used to drive a V6 SUV. Could this be the reason why I felt a little sluggish with the test drive? Also, the previous owner had changed the manufacturer's tape deck with a Jensen CD... I would rather have a tape deck since I can listen to my iPod. Value of the car was $10,998... 1. What are the maintenance cost like for this type of Audis? 2. How much more mileage can I expect? I will be in Nashville only for the next two more years and then get a real job. 3. I saw another 99 Lexu ES 300 (with 103K) going at the same price. Would you rather get an Audi or a Lexus at the same price with similar high mileage situation? Thanks!!! :confuse:

I know they have some sort of lease for the A6 V6 that I didn't find very impressive at all. It requires 3573 due at lease inception (2499 down payment), then 499/month for 36 months based ona 48,640 MSRP and a lease end purchase option of 26,265. And that's only 10k miles a year with no taxes included. I'd love to get a 4.2L A6 but for that price which only includes the basic 6-speed auto, sunroof, and 'premium' package (which are mostly things that are often standard on the competition's cars)... I have a hard time justifying it. BTW, right now I'm at about the 12 month mark of a 24 month lease of an Audi A4 6-speed manual w/ sunroof package, XM, metallic paint, heated headlight washers, and 17" wheels (just listing the very spartan options) and paid absolutely zero down, about 800 due at least inception, 389 a month including all taxes and fees and 15k miles a year for 24 months. Now THAT is more like it. :D
