Buying a car from a Audi Car Dealer
Thanks so much Car_Man. I talked to the dealer, and according to him, AFS is asking much more if the dealer is the one buying it out... according to him AFS is offering it to me for 23K, but to him it would be its full value of $33K plus tax. If i buy it out and sell it to him later, he says AFS can see it and will fine them. Is there any truth to this? Also, I am in NY, and it looks like i need to pay the tax on the 23K buyout, according to DMV, if i sell the car, the other person also needs to pay the tax to NYS... so NYS takes double the tax... Is there any way to avoid paying double tax in such cases? Thanks a lot!
I keep hearing the Q5 is hard to get BUT it is not true according to an Auto Industry trade rags all luxury SUV/Crossovers are moving slow and Q5 is no exception ....... seems NO cars are scarce in this economy... I went to a dealer in NY who said Q5 was hard to get BUT I drove in back of their lot and there were 6 of them behind a lot of Q7s... My 2 cents is I would NOT buy now BUT wait a while and there will be more incentives and hungrier sales managers as the inventory builds... . do not settle for less than $400 under INVOICE in this economy Good Luck...
Trying to get a price on a 2009 A4 Avant w/ Premium Plus. A dealer has offered $36,890 (including $1000 conquest cash). According to Edmunds the Invoice on this car is $36,955 w/o metallic paint (I prefer blk). The dealer considers invoice to be $37,789, this includes $834 of dealer costs (prep fee, port and advertising fee, etc.). Have you found any wiggle room in these fees? Is this a good deal? I live in NY and got the deal from a Long Island dealer. Thoughts? Suggestions?
According to my notes the numbers were quoted to me as listed above last Saturday, April 4th. They may still be in effect.
Hello Everyone, I've been reading through all of the pages on this thread and haven't seen anything recent enough to help me out. I am a Canadian looking to buy an Audi A4 Quattro (Black, black leather, sport suspension, ect) but the dealer prices are wild here. Fully loaded they are listed at approx. $45,000 CDN - which is approx $42,000 US. Reading all of your posts I am extremely jelous of what you have been able to get. My question is this: According to the Transport Canada I am able to purchase and import this particular model. Of course I will pay taxes and excise fees...but that won't make up the amazing difference in savings. Do any of you guys know if US (ideally Northern US States like NY) will sell cars to Canadians? Also, are there warranty issues I should be concerned with? Any and all help is very appreciated.
