Used Audi A3 prices
by saintforlife on Mon Mar 24 14:18:26 PDT 2008
I am in the market for a used Audi A3 and I was thinking that the used car prices listed on TMV is a little too conservative. The particular model that I am looking for 2006 A3 6-speed MT with leather seats and less than 30,000 miles is listed at a dealer price of $18,500 on TMV. But I cannot find a used A3 with the options I want for less than $22,000 anywhere. So is the TMV price really conservative or will the prices for a 2006 model come down later in the year since it is still Q1 of 2008?

A lot of people ask questions but I don't know if everyone ever follows up with their end experience. Post your deals folks, as it helps tremendously for the rest of us in negotiating. Here's mine: '06 A4 2.0T 6spd Manual (manuals are getting hard to find) Options/packages: Dolphin Gray metallic w. ebony interior Sunshades Premium Sunroof Tech S-line Titanium MSRP $40,735 Cap Cost $38,663 36 mos. lease at 15k miles/year Zero down with no further cap cost reduction. MF (Money Factor) .00062 or 1.49% 53% Residual Monthly comes to $566.86(including tax) with a total drive off at $937.23 (tax, title, registration, & 1st months rent) Maybe not the best deal, but certainly not the worst. Good luck to everyone else. Edit: This is in Sacramento, CA
Re: Looking to get an S4 sedan in mid-2006 [_matty]

Hey matty, thanks for the response. Actually I haven't checked back in here on this board for quite some time and just happened to take a peak. For the record, I've found a 6MT at a local dealer that I instantly liked. I'm getting a great deal on it and it's an 06. Paying invoice for it. I'm going to be picking it up in a couple of days and I'm totally psyched. My sales guy was very cool and allowed me to thoroughly test drive two different S4s back-to-back, one Tip and the other MT. I took them both home over the weekend. I concluded the manual tranny is the best way to go! :)

Purchased 2.0T MT
by guitarbob on Tue Mar 21 16:03:41 PST 2006
Thanks to all who post here. I just agreed to purchase a 2.0T MT, basically stripped, which is just about right for me. Prices, before tax, license, etc.: MSRP (Base, Paint, Destination) = 25,910. Invoice = 24,128. I just agreed to 24,800, which is 1,110 under MSRP and 672 over invoice. Purchased from Tucson Audi (Arizona). They did not have the combo I wanted (silver with with black interior), but there is one on its way in 3-4 weeks. I first tried the Subaru WRX wagon, which I liked quite a bit (esp. the seats), but it seemed to be somewhat of a step down in overall quality compared to the A3, especially the interior materials. Nice though. I tried the normally aspirated Outback and it was nice too, but I found it boring. Finally, I tried the new VW GTI given it's common platform and motor with the A3. Liked it, esp. the $3,000 less, and their willingness to sell just above invoice. It has some useful stuff standard than the A3 doesn't have or is an option (mp3 6-disk CD player, standard trip computer); I like the typical sunroof too. In the end, it's just a bit too much "boy racer" for this 41 year-old. So I sprung for the A3. First new car in 15 years! :)
