Buying a car from a Audi Car Dealer

Alex in NYC - That is standard AFS practice and why I would never lease an Audi again. I went through that several years ago. I ended up purchasing the car off lease and reselling it to a third party. In California there is a Tax form you can fill out to avoid paying taxes on the vehicle if you intend to resell it within ten days. You should check to see if NYC has a similar tax scheme.

Re: buy 2008 lease? [jmb15] by mcwenzel on Sun Mar 13 10:27:06 PDT 2011

Good luck. When I tried to sell my Audi off lease they would only honor the residual price if I bought it. They would not honor that price if I traded it in or wanted to sell to a third party. In each of those cases they wanted to charge more than the residual because the car was low on milage. I had to buy the car and sell to a third party, but it was complicated due to sales tax issues. I had to purchase it and get title and turn the transaction with the third party within ten days I believe. Huge hassle. This was in California.

2011 Q5 by bnlitin on Sun Aug 01 22:27:52 PDT 2010

I am looking to buy a 2011 Q5 3.2L with Navigation, Bang &Olufsen Audio. My local dealer is Stevens Creek Audi (San Jose, California) and they have a few 2010 models leftover. I got the following quote from Costco Auto Program for a Q5 2011: * Engine/Fuel: * 3.2L/195 Gas V6 * Transmission: * Tiptronic Speed Automatic * Door/Body Style: * 4 door * Drive Type: * All wheel drive * Manufacturer Code: * 8RB5EL-2 Selected Options: Available options may vary. Please check with your Authorized Dealer Contact for specifics. * PREMIUM PLUS PKG * CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS * FRONT LICENSE PLATE HOLDER * IBIS WHITE * STANDARD PAINT * CARDAMOM, LEATHER SEATING SURFACES * BANG & OLUFSEN AM/FM/MP3 SOUND SYSTEM * AUDI MMI NAVIGATION PLUS PKG * REAR SIDE AIRBAGS * ALL WEATHER FRONT & REAR FLOOR MATS W/TRUNK LINER * WHEEL LOCKS Total= $44,603 (without Tax, Title, or Registration) Is this a good price? Are there any differences between 2010 and 2011? Also, is there any advantage to the more expensive Metallic paint?

Re: Is this a good lease? [alfiesf2001] by billymay on Tue Jul 13 17:54:58 PDT 2010

Sounds very good. On a similarly equipped car, but with meteor grey paint, I was offered: $1900 down $587/month including taxes 3yrs/12000 miles

No good leasing from Audi by thbarrett on Sun Aug 23 14:21:17 PDT 2009

I just returned from Walters Audi in Riverside, California. They gave me a good price on a new A6 Premium Plus with Nav. Retail for $54,225 with a buy price of $46,325. They would not give me the $4000 off and a money factor of .0003 on a lease. If I wanted the $4000 factory back they wanted to go through another bank and charge a money factor of .00212 = 5.088%. with a $895 acquisitn fee and $2333.39 drive off. I could get .0003 =.72% but, without the $4000 from Audi. Hence, no new A6 in garage and not happy. Any Ideas :(
