Buying a car from a Audi Car Dealer
Hi, I am leasing a 2008 A4 Sedan 2.0T Quattro MT6, which ends on 01/02/2011. I took the lease over from someone else after he had it for 19 months, and really love the car. No problems, no issues. I am wondering if you think buying it at the end of the lease is a good idea financially. Here are the particulars: Stats: Brilliant Red, Black Leather, Base MSRP $31,000 Options: S-Line Pkg ($2,000), Audio Pkg ($1,000), Titanium Pkg ($500), Bluetooth ($500), Heated Seats ($450), Dest. ($775) Total MSRP $36,225. The negotiated lease price was $34,417 plus $590 for Audi Care Pkg. and $195 Etch (unreal, but what can you do?), with a residual of $21,010. Lease term is 36 months, 30,000 miles total. It currently has about 27,500 on it. Payments are $444.60 per month. When I took the lease over I didn't give the guy anything down - just took over the payments. Plus, he paid the first month I had it for me. So I will have driven it for 17 months, but paid for 16. If I pay it off this week, I'll owe Audi Financial $21,010 plus the two remaining payments plus sales tax. Because I am buying it and paying it off two months early, they will credit me $121. I will also avoid the $350 turn in fee. Thanks for your help. Love these forums. Al
Hey Carman et al. This forum has been invaluable to me during my research and preparation through closing the following deal-- curious if you think it could have been better: 2010 A4 Avant Ibis White/Black Premium Plus Navigation 36 months, 12K MSRP: $42175-- Dealer Invoice shows just over 40K Negotiated Price (according to dealer): $39840 Due at Drive Off: $1750-ish Monthly: $609 (includes 9.875% tax!!) I found the following money factor and residual for June: .00043 and 51%. Consistent with your info? By my math, this monthly payment indicates a purchase price in the low 38K's. Any thoughts? I'm in Southern California. Thanks for the great resource! LADP
kind of surprised the audi I looked at nearly 2 months ago was still on the lot. Struck a deal on it, dealer dropped to invoice pricing; gave me a bit more than wholesale on an 02 jetta with 140K miles and got audi care in deal. also got the 5yr/100,000 warranty. I want to get the rubber floor mats; parts dept was closed and they are usually ordered. Any idea on what these should be ($105 on audi site)? Car is black on black with 6 speed manual, leather, bluetooth and ipod. Can't get the bluetooth to pair with my tmobile dash and my ipod has a USB interface, so I don't think it will work. As a storm was moving in, I opted out of clean up until a better day. If you are in the market for an Audi, the dealers are really willing to work with you now. Great Christmas present :).
Unless he left something out in the options it doesn't add up. It's a black A4 so no metallic paint. At audiusa.com, I get 31,870 as the MSRP. A4 2.0 CVT $28,550 Premium Pkg $2,100 "17" wheels" $500 Destination $720 Total $31870 Well I don't absolutely love this car so the deal would have to blow me away. See if I can get more.
