Great Experience

Our recent purchase of a certified Ridgeline at Chapman Honda was an excellent experience. We got the truck we wanted at a fair price and were treated extremely well. A very professional operation. Our salesman, Qastandi, was patience, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. He took particular pains to make sure we understood all of the many features of the vehicle. Better than expected!

The dealership called me to inform me that I could probably get a new lease with a brand new car for less money. It sounded too good to be true but I went down to check it out. I traded in my 2018 for a 2020 (same make & model) and my new payment was $60 less/month. Great deal, great service, great people!

The way it should be

This is the 5th car we have purchased from Chapman Honda. We keep coming back because they just keep treating us so well. We also research pricing each time and compare them to Phoenix. They always match or beat pricing everywhere, including Phoenix. I strongly recommend salesman Yousef and Sales Manager Ashur. In Finance we recommend Albert Camacho. Together these gentlemen are the best of the best. I can’t begin to express how professional, knowledgeable and just plain nice these guys are. Combined we have purchased at least 20 plus cars and never found the process to be ‘a pleasure’. That is until we started buying from Chapman. These guys at Chapman just make the process easy. Kudos to the owner and management for recognizing, hiring and promoting great people like Ashur, Yousef and Albert.

Nice new car buying experience

It was very nice to visit Chapman Honda in Tucson for my first new Honda sedan. After visiting the AutoNation Honda dealer in Tucson Auto mall with mixed feelings, we decided to go to Chapman Honda on 22nd St. We have been familiar with Toyota and its employees since 1988, so I expected some aggressive salesmen who kept writing “you win” with the OTD amount that we did not like on the offer paper. After sending a request for a new car online, Tom Reesing replied back in just minutes to give us a very attractive quote that played a very important role in purchasing our new car. No pressure to buy a new car from Chapman No pressure to buy any additional insurance, options... from Chapman We bought a new 2016 Honda Accord EX sport one day after we visited Chapman There were some issues during the transaction process but Tom and Luis solved it very quickly and professionally in a friendly manner that made us very happy. Believe me, next time when you want to buy a new Honda, go directly to Chapman Honda and see Tom or Luis. You will not be disappointed. Chapman Honda is a 5 star dealership. My next new car will most likely be another Honda at Chapman Honda Tucson.

Mixed Emotions

While I am happy with the purchase of my 2016 Honda Odyssey EX, I wish that they vehicle would have been delivered to me with a much cleaner interior. A week ago, I took the vehicle in for a hand wash of the exterior/interior but got it back with spotted windows which I cleaned when I returned home. Honda never used to give their customers dirty vehicle upon purchasing a new vehicle or after having a service performed. Perhaps its just laziness on the part of the workers.

I first contacted Erik concerning the lease end for my 2012 Odyssey. From the first phone call he understood perfectly what I was looking for to replace the van. Even though a purchase did not happen, Erik helped me immensely by arranging a hassle-free buy-back of the Odyssey. When I am in a better position to shop for a new car I will certainly come back to Chapman and ask for Erik to help me!

This is also the reason we were able to choose the right vehicle for our family's needs. I've always been wary of car salesman, often with good reason, but Tom, you helped to redefine the stereotype. Excellent experience

Contrary to the previous reviews, we had a delightful experience. (I read these reviews and was somewhat hesitant to go to the dealer.) However, since we had started with TrueCar.com, hoping to eliminate the dealer hassle, this dealer promised (and delivered) and no hassle experience. IMHO, buying a car shouldn't be more complicated than buying a pair of shoes. Process was straightforward. Costs were identified and discussed. Trade offer was very fair to even generous. We discussed options for both purchase and leasing. A complete and understandable explanation of the leasing options made that the best decision for our current situation. The color and equipment we wanted wasn't in stock but Internet Sales Manager advised us that one was coming in within a few days. We could have added any or none of the "package" options that Chapman normally installs. These are things we would have wanted. When we left the dealership, our sales rep asked if there was anything we needed. I told him I had three other vehicles to evaluate. I told him I'd be back in touch within a few days. That was fine. No pressure. We decided on the CR-V with Leather and without Navigation. He said we'd have it within about 10 days. He kept us up to date with the process of the order and called us to say that the car would be ready later that day, a total of 7 days from first test thru ordering to delivery. Upon delivery, all the high tech stuff was explained. The quick start guide was explained so it would be easy to refer back to as needed. We couldn't be happier.

DO NOT BUY FROM CHAPMAN

Horrible customer service. They sold me a car without suspension bolts, then wanted to charge me for the alignment that was damaged due to the suspension bolts missing. Sales person Eric V, makes promises he cannot keep. Sales Manager Akram D is a Bully. He becomes aggressive and can agrue with you for hours then wants to hug you. He also makes promises he will not keep and ignors your calls and emails. General Manager, Neb Y will not return your calls or emails.

DONT BUY HERE

After waiting a month for my final paperwork, getting a $300 ticket for expired tags....trying several times to get my salesman on the phone, taking my mom down to co sign for me, they now want their truck back so they can "sort out a few things" so there goes my deposit and my transportation!! THEY SUCK

Bait and Switch

I had a written quote from the internet salesman and still waited hours to finally see the man in the office, who claimed to be honoring the quote but after several calculator moments the numbers didn't match. If I hadn't been buying for my very patient but getting bored teen, I would have walked out. Why do they even have salesmen, only the man in the office determines the price!!

"out the door" price? seriously?

Tried to buy a used Honda from Chapman yesterday. Sales guy asked if I would pay $10K for the car "out the door." I said does "out the door" include sales tax, license, etc.? and he said "that's what we mean by 'out the door.'" So I agreed, $10K for the car, out the door. He went away and came back with a printed agreement -- for $11.5K! A few "other costs" added on, 15% to be exact. So much for "that's what we mean by out the door?" Needless to say, I was out the door. Shame. I had checkbook in hand, ready to close the deal. One of the sales guys I worked with had been very helpful earlier but unfortunately I got passed to another.

2011 Civic LX Purchase

This was our first car purchase in 14 years, so we were not sure what to expect in the new car buying experience. I did my due diligence on cars we wanted to consider (Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Corolla, and Honda Civic). We test drove each one and my wife liked the Honda the best. I also checked Edmunds.com, and Kelley Blue Book KBB.com sites and gathered as much information as possible before going to the dealer to negotiate a deal. We ended up with a deal at the Edmunds True Market Pricing price, and got 0.9% interest as well. I also got nearly what KBB said my trade-in would be worth. Overall the sales people were very courteous and helpful throughout the process. Also, the finance person we worked with was most efficient and knowledgeable, and was able to answer each and every one of our questions. At the time of vehicle delivery, our Salesman Brian Hayden, took time to walk us through every facet of the car's operation from the engine through to the trunk. This was most helpful for my wife who will be driving the car most frequently. In summary, this was the most painless new car purchase in our 40 plus years of driving and buying new cars. We'll definitely consider Chapman and Honda again in the future.

Last year when I was looking for a car, I sent out a few inquires by email. However, they failed to return my email. I just show up anyway. So I just gave them my business. Why did I still buy from them? Because I was a repeat customer, and they had the exact car I wanted. There are only two Honda dealerships in Tucson, so if you are a Honda fan, your choice is one out of two. Chapman had what I wanted. What choice do I have unless I drive to Phoenix. Because I was an informed buyer, it was smooth as silk. I care more about getting the "perfect" car vs which dealership to buy from.

As good a car-buying experience as one can hope for

I am going to be hard-pressed to ever say that I "liked" a car dealership, let alone "loved" one, but if you're in Tucson, and you want to buy a Honda, I would absolutely recommend Chapman. After doing plenty of research/legwork ahead of time and getting several internet quotes, I went in to Chapman yesterday to buy my new Fit. The salesman was friendly and accommodating, and he did not employ typical sleazy tactics and hard sell maneuvers. He answered my questions honestly, worked with me to get the price down (below invoice), and even drove around the storage lots to find a car that had not yet been altered by the dealer (with tinting/security/etching/blah blah blah). As a side note, the same conversation at [another dealership] was a nightmare - it was like the scene in "Fargo," where William H. Macy's character tells his customers about how they just have to buy the "tru-coat" on their new car. Obviously, car dealerships need to make a profit to stay in business, but my salesman was as open with me as he reasonably could be when I asked about things like hold-back percentage on my vehicle, unspoken factory-to-dealer incentives, and the true cost of dealership-installed options. Additionally, the finance manager got me a better rate than I had expected and even knocked the APR down, when I asked how much it had been inflated at the dealership level. All-in-all, I walked away with the vehicle I wanted, with the financing I required, at a price that was below Edmunds' TMV for my make/model. Granted, if I hadn't been assertive and proactive, things could have potentially gone much worse, but, in general, I am more than pleased with my sales experience at Chapman.

Dealer Review - Chapman Honda (Tucson) - 2008

I initially test drove the Honda Fit at Chapman Honda. They were pleasant enough, but I did get what I consider to be the the typical dealer sales pitch, with the usual emphasis on trying to make an immediate sale for a car that was 1) already on the lot, 2) already loaded with useless dealer add-ons, and 3) was test-driven so many times that it already had close to 300 miles on it!!! I ended up buying a Honda Fit Sport MT over the internet from Chapman Honda. I initially requested Honda Dealers. We put a $500 deposit via credit card and were told that the car would arrive in a out-the-door quote over e-mail with a breakdown of all taxes, fees, doc, title, license, registration, etc. Interestingly, their initial quote and breakdown did not add up correctly, but they fixed that with one e-mail. They were one of the lowest interent prices I got from about a dozen Southern Arizona about three weeks. I was skeptical of this timeframe, especially since they were a little vague with the delivery date, but the car arrived and was in our hands in just under three weeks. Picking up the car was relatively painless. There were no unexpected snags or high-pressure sales pitches for add-ons and they did take our trade in for what I considered a fair price (and more than CarMax offered) and with no hassle. We spent about an hour and a half at the dealer inspecting the car and doing paperwork and then had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the car to be cleaned/detailed - we were so anxious the get the car that we drove in as soon as it arrived. In fact, when we first saw the car the shipping plastic was still on the body. Overall, Chapman Honda seems like they do a fair amount of internet business and understand that the internet buyer is looking for a minimal hassle and no-pressure experience. If they quote you a competitive price, I have no reservations about recommending Chapman Honda for a smooth internet purchase.
