Upon completing my due diligence regarding my pre-owned car search, I telephoned Moore and inquired as to whether the car I had in mind was 1. still available and 2. Was certified at no additional cost. I was advised that, the car was available and the the car was certified at no additional cost. This changed when Pete presented the itemized cost of the car and all of a sudden the certification is ($900.00) additional. I took my lumps and continued with the purchase. I Visited Moore for an all cash purchase of the car that I had selected and was greeted by the salesman and advised that I had done my research, selected the car and was ready for a test drive, and payment. All went pretty smooth....except that the front tires on the car showed very unusual wear. the salesman responded to my inquiry (jokingly), "hey what do you expect for such a good price". I advised that I would still move forward, but wanted the sales manager to inspect the tires (it was late evening and the service department was closed, otherwise I would have requested that a mechanic inspect the tires) toward the end of the transaction, I asked the sales manager for his opinion regarding the unusual wear and he stated that the tires seemed fine. During the test drive I noticed unusually loud tire noise and I could feel the bumpy tread. I asked the sales manager (Pete) if I could return the vehicle for inspection by his mechanic (s) and he stated sure. Due to the distance factor, i was unable to return but wanted to resolve the problem, so I schedule a visit to a national tire chain tha sells their products for a "Discount" and my friend there advised me that "more than likely, the tires had never been rotated (24k miles) and that was the cause of the poor wear. I decided to replace the tires, for $230. total. I made several attemps to contact Pete at Moore and was unable to get through the telephone screening process and he did not return three phone messages. Very poor follow up considering this was such an easy sell. From this point my only contact with Moore will be regarding warranty issues, otherwise, I will have all maintenance completed at Bill Luke where I purchased my 2007, 300. I find it amazing that even in today's economy car dealers are sacrificing long term relationships in order to save a couple of bucks. I have removed all dealer identification from my car and will share the negative experience with any who will listen.
